The Thunderhead Lodge is a historic place; it doesn't look like much, but it was built in the 40s or 50s. Used to be the Skiway to Mt. Hood; a bus/ski lift to Timberline back in the day, renovated to condos at some point. It is accessed by lock boxes and a several codes. This is #201; studio condo. Definitely older, like you are stepping into the 1980s, but it has everything you need and it's clean. Dishwasher, micro, coffeemaker, 2 mounted wall TVs, DVDs, Playstation, shower that had a bit of a wacky shower head, and the wallpaper in the bathroom was a little moldy and peeling, but everything was clean and functional. Was pretty warm when we got there but it cools down nicely (no AC). Our only frustration was the pool-was given the wrong gate code, and when we arrived the pool was covered. We thought it was closed. Next day found an updated code in my email from Vacasa. Was quiet and not many people staying while we were there. Would stay again, just because of the price and location! Easy drive to Mt. Hood/Timberline, Zigzag, and many trails to hike. Right across the street from Mt. Hood Brewery, and Gov. Camp is a short drive as well.
