Owner description: It's an odd structure, a stone octagon in "German art nouveau" style.

View of the Columbia River Gorge can see for miles. The river and the tall rock walls from ancient lava flows are another wonder to behold. The tall firs on the hillside so very tall. A photographer’s paradise the view is so breathtaking.

Really cool place. You're driving on the new highway, you see this structure way up on the mountain. "What is that?" Take historic highway 30, (partially closed) up to it. The only down side, they don't light it up at night. Now that would be great photos!!!!

Took my family to one of my favorite sights in Oregon. My sister was visiting from Johannesburg and I had to show her Multnomah Falls and Vista House (my two-go-to-options for friends and family flying through). As always, we loved it and had a lovely time! The view of the Columbia Gorge from Vista house is breathtaking! The kids loved it. It helps that there are bathrooms downstairs! My 5-year-old daughter wanted to know why dogs are not allowed into Vista House and the park rangers happily answered her questions.

This is a family friendly historical place. Inside the vista house there is a gift shop with lots of really nice memorabilia you can get. You can also get books about the history of the Gorge & Vista house. I grew up here & am now raising my kids here. I am thankful every day to be surrounded by such amazing beauty!
