The rooms are clean, but dated, smell a bit musty. Appreciated being in single story. Loved the soaps and shampoos at the Red Lion. Attached restaurant was below par. Waitress was more worried about learning the new computer system, then taking care of patrons. Several items on the menu were not available such as choice of potatoes.

We don't want our customers to suffer due to the new computer system. Our focus should be on our customer. We are happy that you enjoy the soaps and shampoos and that your room was clean. Clean and spacious rooms, friendly staff, right across the street from the water. They even let me check out late due to unforeseen circumstances without charging us..Nice restraint, & pool. Plenty of rooms

Our housekeeping department does a good job keeping our rooms clean. We do have a nice staff and they will go the extra mile to help our customers. Listen I'm going ahead with the five stars because I believe they are working on updating the facility. I travel very frequently. My brother and I own a business that has us on a plane every 6-9 days, so we get what to expect according to the location. We stay exclusively with the Red Lion Inn Coos Bay every time! I want the potential guests to understand one thing, for any lack of luster this older building may have the staff far away over and succeed what should be expected! They are accommodating, friendly, helpful, and truly make you feel at home!

We thank you so much for the feedback. Our hotel has been going through some updates and trying to improve our older facility. As we all know it’s hard to buy everything at once. We thank you for letting us know that our staff works hard and they are doing a great job. Our staff works diligently everyday to make sure our guests have a nice place to stay. We do thank you for being a loyal customer and we thank you for your business. We will see you on your next trip to the dunes.

Likes :
- Short drive to the downtown area, resaurants
- Main building / lobby area is very nice - staff great
- Outdoor pool ( heated ) and hot tub nice
- Rooms comfortable - didn't mind stairs to 2nd floor

Dislikes :
- Continental breakfast not included in price - you have option to pay for a buffet
- Bay view is blocked by a derelict building across the street

We thank you for your feedback. We are happy to hear that you liked the hot tub and heated outdoor pool. We are happy that you were comfortable and our staff was great. We do have a great staff and they work hard to maintain our hotel. We are sorry to hear that the property across Hwy 101 had your view blocked. We are not sure what will be going in across the Hwy from us yet. Our breakfast buffet is included in some rates. We have many different rates to choose from. It all depends on what they guests needs are. Some prefer to book in the rate and some prefer to book without. Guest can always purchase it if they would like. We thank you for being our guest and we do hope that when you come back that you will stop and see us again.

First, this property is billed as a 3 star hotel. It is a MOTEL not a hotel at all. It is 2 stars at best. Dirty, outdated and dingy. Bathroom tile grout disgusting, filthy. I couldn't take a shower. The whole place looks like a cheap 70s motel with nothing redone since then. It was gross and very overpriced for what you get. The whole Coos Bay area is lacking in decent accommodations. So maybe thus is as good as It gets. Sadly lacking. I cannot recommend. I'll never be back.
