We enjoy Caesar Creek Lake - took our grand daughter, who is 14 months old to the beach and let her walk in the water. She loved it! It was fun to see how much fun she had playing in the lake and walking with her grandpops. The only problem was that the beach was very, very full of bird droppings. Needs to be cleaned up, and I hope that they do that soon. Otherwise we will go again.

Been going to Caesar Creek Lake since the mid 1980s. Now on our third boat (Tracker fishing, Astro Fish and Ski, and now a Yamaha Jet boat) Caesar Creek is the only local place we go. Quieter, less busy, less crowded and smoother than Brookville and East Fork lakes.

Let me preface my review or Caesar Creek Lake Campground with the fact that 2018 had an unusually cold Spring with snow accumulating the first week of April, plus a confirmed tornado in nearby Clifton, and significant flooding throughout the region. If you are visiting in warmer weather, your experience may be different.

First, the positives: Caesar Creek Lake Campground is huge with almost 300 sites and plenty of space between sites, unlike commercial campgrounds. A variety of sites with a variety of utilities are offered for reasonable rates. Winter ends April 1 for Southern Ohio State Parks . . . sort of. If the weather is cold, they don't turn on the water. Perhaps we were told this fact when we registered, but we didn't find out until setting up our camper. Of course, there is no staff to address the problem and no one to call. Water was available from stations a couple hundred yards away, so we had to transport water 5 gallons at a time. Perhaps a note at the entrance would have reminded us to fill our tanks BEFORE setting up.

We would have been ok, IF the bath houses had heat. They didn't. Need I say anything about a lukewarm shower in a 38 degree bath house? I'm not saying it should have been heated, but prepare yourself if camping here.

Finally, the 30 amp plug at our site was broken. We made do with 20 amps, but couldn't run more than a single small heater. Again, there was no one to call. I gave Ohio State Parks an honest review with comments, but heard nothing back.

So, this campground is probably nice in warmer weather, and serves its purpose in the winter. Just know what you are getting. At least it's open in the winter.

Aside from camping, the park has the lake, visitor center, and is convenient to the interstate and all of Cincinnati and Dayton's attractions.

We stopped and bought firewood from the camp office on the way in. It was $5.50 for 4 medium pieces of wood. This was our first time at this campground and was pleasantly surprised. Even though the campground was full, it was still quiet and enjoyable. There are tons of hiking trails and the sunset at the lake is beautiful. The lake is actually a lot larger than I thought and now you can rent kayaks from the camp office too. There was organized bingo and a movie playing in the ampitheatre on the Saturday night. The modern bathrooms were just okay. They were heated which was nice, but no hot water unless you go to a 'shower station' where there's plenty of hot water. I found them suitable. The grill/firepit was cleaner than most other campgrounds we've been to. And the added bonus for this site is that you still get phone reception.

The water was clean, the campground was nice for all types of camping, location relative to other attractions was good. Some people at the campground were not very respectful of keeping their noise down with playing their music, and some dogs barking. Not sure why people go to the great outdoors and want to play their music!!! I like to enjoy the sound of God's creation when I am camping.
