“Luxurious Tasmanian escape offering complete privacy”
Reviewed 29 May 2014 for a stay in September 2012

Rocky Hills Retreat is now one of my most favourite accommodation stays in Tasmania. It feels like my home away from home, so welcoming. It's decorated and furnished to a five star level down to the very comfortable king size mattress and purpose built massive two orange lounges facing the water view which I managed to spend many hours lying on enjoying a good book, some port and cheese in front of the fireplace.

The retreat is unique to anywhere else I've stayed. It has an extensive library with a creative flair. The library titles blend in with gorgeous and quirky art pieces. Guess the owner is aiming for a feminine touch with a classic French modern theme and it works.
I first stayed in Sept 2012 for just one night and came away feeling like I'd escaped the world for days, it's just so relaxing. Managed to explore about 1 km of the 250 acres onsite all to myself.
Whilst the the bush beckoned, the weather was perfect and warm enough decided to enjoy the outdoor Huon pine bath instead whilst sipping my complimentary half bottle of French champagne. Most decadent way to spend an hour. Easy to become very happy and relaxed in this retreat. When I return I will definitely chose to stay longer.

“Amazing Accommodation”
Reviewed 20 October 2013 for a stay in October 2013

This is an absolute must if you are after peace and quiet.

The place really is as magnificent as it appears on the website. The views are breathtaking but the real treat is inside this luxury glass walled house. The bed and sofas are incredibly comfortable, the kitchen is well stocked and the fire is easy to manage and adds a lovely touch. The bathroom offers plenty of storage without cluttering up the main room and the outside bath is a wonderful touch.

Our host, Ann, who met us at the property, was lovely too and phoned us the day before to find out if we had any special requests for the kitchen pantry.

Word of warning, the property is up a steep and rather rocky hill, you don't need a four-wheel drive but it is best handled with care.

It is rare to find a place that lives up to expectations but this is one.
