We had a lovely day at South Shields today with our youth group. We had gorgeous fish and chips from the Blue Marlin restaurant and had a beautiful Mr Whippy ice cream. Only problem was we had someone who was physically disabled and myself and a friend struggled to get her on a ride. The ride staff, didnt even help us, knowing we were struggling. Disgusted with there service.
Apart from that a very good day .

Took the dog for a walk on the beach at South Shields.

Parking between November and February is £1 all day and during the same period dogs are allowed on the beach.

We walked the full length of the beach from the amusements to the Frenchman’s Battery and then stopped for a coffee and bacon muffin at the Haven a Tony Minchella cafe which was excellent.

No visit to south shield is complete without a visit to our sea front and in particular the pier if you sea fish , there is some of the best sea fishing from the pier on the whole coast. It is usually open by the pier attendant at around 7:30 when the pier is cleaned , the walk along is bracing in the winter and a fantastic stretch of the legs after a good lunch in the summer .
To the south is the big beach down to the national Trust Leas and north to the groyne and small beach

The sea front at South Shields is a great place to visit, a lot of regeneration of the beach has taken place and it is a wonderful location on the North East Coastline.

The town centre is in need of a lot of investment but the local authority are currently making moves on improving the high street.

The new Library at the top of the high street is a great place to visit and has a lovely coffee shop
