I hadn't realised this place was on my door step and I'm so pleased I've found it. Visited on Saturday afternoon as I was doing a cheese board for a friend's party. Received fantastic service from the lady on the cheese counter. She was so knowledgable and helpful. All of the cheeses went down a treat. Will definitely be returning!

We came here randomly when we spotted a sign for the place. The menu was really nice, with some lighter foods but a good selection of more substantial specials to try. I had the cheesy pasta bake and my partner had the cottage pie. His was really good - not the biggest portion, but really tasty and well priced. Mine was really nice too. Service was very friendly! Bought some of the guest French Brie to take home, it was dirt cheap and really good (wish we’d got more). The surroundings are really nice too

Been here a few times for afternoon tea now and I can honestly say it’s by far the nicest afternoon Iv had!

Cheese is my most favourite food so I have gone for he cheese lovers afternoon each visit & it has never disappointed! The sandwiches & scones are fresh & full of flavour, the staff are lovely, warm & welcoming! And a brilliant selection of cheeses, chutneys etc to buy & bring home... this place is perfect! If I could rate it higher then I would, can’t recommend enough!

I've spent years visiting and working in France and whilst I do love their cheeses, I've finally found somewhere to rival them. And I'm so pleased it's on home (Geordie) turf!!!

We arrived as a largeish party of 11 (all ages) and despite it being a public holiday and the place being busy we were well catered for. Whilst our food was being prepared we were able to taste as many locally-produced cheeses as we liked - and we did: all of them delicious. Nothing was troo much trouble, indeed we were encouraged to try more. Of course, purchases were made - all reasonably priced, btw - and we were then able to enjoy our meals (again, all delicious).

The food - as you might expect - is fairly cheese-based, but rest assured that's not all that is on offer. Two of our party opted to share a high tea, which was declared excellent (not often clean plates are made - but they were here).

So I'm delighted to recommend this place - and hope to visit again. In the meantime I will be happy to spread the word about marvellous Northumbrian cheeses!

Thank P B

I have got to start of by saying the cheese soup is really good as it is made with their own homemade cheese. Staff were really friendly and food comes quick.
