A nice place to have a coffee & snack or full meal if you wish. Better on a warm sunny day as you can sit outside, wander around the shops or go for a pleasant longer walk but on a not so kind day go to the Red Carpet Cinema! We visit the Marina on a regular basis and enjoy a few hours there just 'chilling'!

Enjoyed our visit to Barton Marina but for our visit to Marina Cafe we asked for some sandwiches and were refused as they said it was ONE minute after the time they serve sandwiches I could understand if it had been longer we won’t walk down to the Marina cafe again

Theres a butchers/bakers, a few cafes/delis, art centre, restaurant, gift shops and a small cinema _ Red Carpet Cinema where u can have a meal, be entertained by live music and watch a film in a lovely old fashioned cinema. Lovely walks around a lake can be taken as well as a walk along the Trent & Mersey canal.

Barton marina is the most romantic place in this area to go for a lovely walk down the canal. Then to the luxurious cinema , and a meal at the waterfront restaurant. Shops also located around the marina. It looks lovely all lit up at night. Live music sometimes held at the waterfront. Recently started building homes around the area. Lovely for a dog walk too. The is also a lovely fancy thai restaurant and a cute coffee shop around the marina. It's free to walk around. Would go back again!!

Barton Marina is perfect any time of year for 30 minutes or 3 hours. The Marina itself boasts ice little shops and a couple of places to eat. Closet to the car park is a large pub, which is pleasant enough, but nothing to write home about. As you move along the arena there are shops for clothing/shoes, gifts and knick-knacks, café, butcher and delicatessen, Thai restaurant (very nice) and a bar with cinema. The marina houses many barges, with a couple that you can go into and look around.

Next to the marina and a nature reserve and is a hot spot for numerous birds. It is this that is possibly the highlight of the visit especially if you visit throughout the year as you can witness the flora and fauna as the seasons change. It's also a great spot for a picnic, although do be cautious in the summer and the bird population is huge and the geese are not shy. Take a walk around the lakes and enjoy some relaxing fresh air.

Doesn't cost a penny to get into the area and parking is free. It can get very crowded and this is the only downside, as selfish people start parking up on the grasses areas and banks, which goes against the fact this is a nature reserve. Parking needs expanding and there should be fines in place for people not taking care of the environment.
