My husband and I stayed at The Plough for a 2 night break and had pre-booked the gin tasting for our first evening. It was an absolutely amazing experience which I would recommend to anyone (gin lover or not). We learnt loads about the history of gin and tried some very unusual types of our favourite tipple. The hotel itself is very comfortable. The food extremely good and the staff friendly and very helpful. We intend to return and next time will book the "blend your own bottle of gin" package. Can't wait.

We were treated to a gin tasting experience by a very knowledgable Robin, who gave 8 of us a history and tasting session with various types and styles of Gin. Very informative and now we know a lot more about what we like and don’t like. Followed by a meal and overnight stay in a lovely pub/hotel that is full of charm and character. Our room was large and well appointed, would definitely recommend a stay here.

The Plough is a great place to stay, the room was large and the bed was huge, the building is full of history. It was nice to wake on a Sunday morning to the bells of the nearby st Stephen’s church, as seen in Downton Abbey.
The staff were very friendly and the gin tasting is a must, Robin is a real character and very knowledgeable.

Great hotel. Great staff. Excellent food. Massive choice of gins.
Our room (superior double) was well appointed, clean and a good size.
The staff were friendly and very efficient. Nothing was too much trouble.
Very enjoyable gin tasting session with Robin who very knowledgeable and kept everyone engaged.
The gin pantry is impressive the only problem was choosing which gin to try next.
Overall a very enjoyable weekend. We'll definitely be going back in the future.

Charming old character hotel and restaurant, what a fantastic way to spend your Sunday and experiencing the variety of Gins and learning about its history. Robin was an excellent host and was knowledgeable and passionate in his delivery on the subject.

Overall a thoroughly fantastic night away with friends and a comfortable nights sleep in a lovely room , I would thoroughly recommend the Gin event well worth the money.
