Room clean, evening meal very poor. One lady staff on worked very hard ,trying to serve beer , meals , booking poeple in & out . No salt in the pots . Worst place we have stayed in .Had to send toast back as it was not toasted.

Turned up at 18:10 to this establishment that boasts outside "Food served all day every day" and that it is "Boot, child and dog friendly".
When I asked what room to eat in I was asked if we were staying in the hotel (we had not made a decision at that time) to which I replied no.
Waitress then informed me that they were only serving food to patrons that were staying in the hotel because they had had a very busy day.
I asked why did they have a sign outside that claimed they served food all day when in fact they did not to which she just shrugged her shoulders.
I then told her to check Trip Advisor later tonight and left for the Newcastle Inn at Rothbury.

Room Tip: Take some food.

Visited here last week for dinner with my husband, daughter, son in law and granddaughters. We had a really nice meal, and made most welcome. The lady who served us was so nice to the children. Thank you for a really nice meal and we will return if back in the Wooler area again

We love the food in the Tankerville Arms and make a point of eating here every time we visit Wooler. There were 3 of us and all our meals on our visit were very tasty indeed. I had Scampi and home made chips ( chips are fantastic ) peas and salad £11.95. My husband had Steak and Guinness pie ( steak melted in his mouth ) with a puff pastry top veg and home made chips £12.95. Our friend had one of the best Cod in Ginger Ale Batter he has ever had. He said the Ginger Ale batter was thin and crispy and lovely white flakes of cod, it came with home made chips peas and salad. £12.95. Very friendly staff which make you feel very welcome.
