Stay here for quite a while, and every day I was met with the same smiling faces ! The food was amazing and fresh and professionally presented, the bar was always so inviting as was the restaurant and drawing room, rooms were immaculately kept and cosy, would highly recommend staying here with Shona and the team !

A fantastic place as a base to explore the boarders and a trip to Lindisfarne. Beautiful, clean, comfortable room, professional and friendly staff who could not do enough for us. Excellent food, we enjoyed dinner, very reasonabley priced and varied menu and breakfast was included in the room rate- perfect. Cosy friendly bar, we will be back!

We visited Coldstream for lunch, but it was Gala week and everywhere was crowded out. So in desperation we travelled outside to Cornhill on Tweed and found The Collingwood Arms Hotel. I'm glad we did! Lunch was superb served by friendly staff - I had a warm duck salad (well, it was more of a stir-fry really) and my wife had a very tasty Carbonara dish. Both were of a very high quality. The starters and desserts were both delicious and served, as I observed, by friendly, unflustered staff, even though we were late lunching. The ambience of the place was relaxed and we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and will happily revisit if passing there again. It certainly was a much better choice than wht was a very overcrowded Coldstream - one hotel there offered us lunch but with at least a 45 minute waiting time! So The Colloingwood Arms won out - and we were very pleased to have found it.
Thanks again, for a very pleasant lunch.

When renting a holiday cottage in the area, my wife and I like to combine a shopping trip to Coldstream (or the village shop in Cornhill) with lunch in the Collingwood Arms bistro, adjacent to the bar. We like the usually relaxed, informal ambience, good food and friendly, efficient service to be found there.
On this occasion, we visited for lunch on a Saturday and again in midweek. Sadly, our enjoyment of the Saturday lunch was marred by unruly infants. We decided to return during the next week in the hope of resetting our memories of the bistro.
On both occasions, we set the scene with a welcome Tanquerey G & T and started with the smoked salmon. This was exceptional in terms of both quality and quantity.
We then proceeded to (1) Scallops and haddock respectively and (2) Haddock and hake respectively. All the dishes were served with appropriate vegetables, etc all well cooked and nicely presented. The wine list offered a good selection of wines by the glass or bottle.
Our confidence restored, we will return when next in the area.
