“What a great place to stay”
Reviewed 19 May 2016 for a stay in May 2016

This holiday accommodation was just great. The apartment is spotless and clearly has been furnished to a high standard - think john lewis neutrals! Everything was set up for a really comfortable stay. Belford is a great base to explore the beautiful castles and coastline of Northumbria. Hadrian's wall made a super day trip, and the coast walks from Craster to Dunstanburgh, the fascinating Bamburgh Castle and the interesting priory ruins on Holy Island were all brilliant ways to see this beautiful part of the world. The apartment is across the road from a really interesting artist's studio which is well worth a visit (right next door to the friendly Black Swan pub), and what a highlight to be able to harvest wild garlic from the lanes north of Detchant to have with our locally sourced dinner! Highly recommended and great value for my partner, me and an old friend in this really spacious 2-bed flat. Thanks so much Jacqui!

Can praise this property enough. Warm welcome from owner (Jackie) & shown round all rooms/appliances to use.
The property is finished to a very high standard. Out/inner door entrance to large lounge area with smart TV & fast internet connection. Kitchen dinner with with all mod cons. Boot room to side. Stairs to two good sized bedrooms & bathroom/shower. One bedroom leads to rooftop terrace with table & seating.
Parking on street outside front door was never a problem.
Located central to the village of Belford with all amenities within walking distance of property.
Can recommend hotel & pubs for food/drink,very reasonable prices.
Although on through road it's a peaceful location & easy access to A1.
Fantastic time relaxing here & surrounding area.

“A fantastic cottage which was central to all our travel needs.”
Reviewed 19 March 2016 for a stay in March 2016

I booked this last minute through Jacquie. The communication and responses to my emails was swift and accurate. The financial transaction was smooth and I had no issues. I can only say great things about my stay at Bank View! It was an ideal central spot in the village, no issues with parking, it was a lovely apartment with everything you would need contained within the cottage. The village has two pubs in less than 5 mins walking, one has football whilst the other has open fires. The Blue Bell Hotel is across the road and my favourite the Sunnyhills Farm shop serves food and wine till late at the weekend. My only disappointment was the weather and not being able to sit out on the lovely patio. Belford for me was a great base from which to explore Northumberland, the apartment was spotless clean and I had a grand stay. I would definitely have no hesitation in recommending Bank View.

“Loved it so much we extended our stay”
Reviewed 19 December 2015 for a stay in August 2015

It's taken us far too long to get round to writing this review, but better late than never.

We spent some time looking for our goldilocks family holiday home (2 adults and a 4 year old boy) - a property that was nicely appointed, close to the sea, walkable to a few pubs/restaurants and amenities without paying the earth. Bank View in Belford was just right.

Communications (with the owner), were excellent and arrangements easily made. If I'm honest, Bank View was probably too nicely decorated and excellently equipped for a rental. The owner has made the effort to add special little touches, which makes it a really lovely place to stay.

The property had 2 double bedrooms, with a roof terrace off the master bedroom. We were lucky enough to have a few sunny days so managed to enjoy our dinner al fresco. The owner also purchased a new duvet with cars on to make our little boy feel at home.

Location wise, Belford is about a 10 minute drive to the seaside and we spent most of our time around the Bamburgh, Seahouses and Alnwick areas - plenty to do for families with young children and so many castles!

We sampled a few of the local restaurants and never had a bad meal. We can recommend Elan Pizzeria and The Links Hotel Restaurant both in Seahouses. When we didn't want to drive, we took a walk down to Sunny Hills Farm Shop and had a nicely leisurely meal and a couple of glasses of red. We also popped over the road to the Blue Bell for a quick drink and found the place family friendly, not to mention very reasonably priced.

We didn't want the holiday to end, which I guess is the best recommendation in itself, so we contacted the owner and managed to slightly extend our stay.

We would definitely go back.

“Only good things!”
Reviewed 20 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We have only good things to say about Bank View! Lovely spot, beautiful apartment, welcoming and thoughtful hosts. Belford is also a great base from which to explore this most beautiful of counties. The apartment was spotless & had all those thoughtful little touches which make life away from home so much easier. Jacqui was most obliging right from the start & has clearly put a great deal of effort into making her guests as welcome as possible. Fresh flowers, basket of goodies on arrival, hairdryer, books, DVDs, cookbooks, slow cooker ... the list is endless and all were much appreciated. Loved the roof terrace and even managed a BBQ - though a bit surreal carrying everything through the bedroom! We had a grand stay and have no hesitation in recommending Bank View to all! Thank you Jacqui.
