Been a Teesside'errr' and having passed this old building for over 20 years it was always on my list to stay over sometime ... and know I have! The place has history, had its owners and its a marker post for Teesside.
I have given this 5 and excellent as I didn't want to give a 4 ... but its a 4.5 for me so inbetween.
The building is lovely, easy to find, and there was a lovely welcome from Sami. There is some redecorating going down particularly in the rooms area and they are doing a great job ... I liked the room which was very spacious and split level. I really like the bar and morning room but wasn't a fan of the dining area in terms of fit with the rest of the house but my opinion only.
Dinner was decent some good cooking and service (I didn't get the Romanian chaps name but he was very good, thank you) and service was great in general. Breakfast was also excellent and the morning room is a great room ... would of liked dinner in there.
Been a long time coming and I would return ... keep the changes going ;-)More
