Called in for an early evening meal. Got cod & chips and scampi & chips. Both cooked to order by friendly staff. Absolutely delicious meal in a beautiful setting. Highly recommended

Called today and had some freshly cooked chips (in vegetable oil) with a tasty bun. Very good price and great portions served in an eco friendly carton. The place was spotless, friendly service and they are planning a lot of vegetarian options soon (their shop in Whitby are already serving them). Will call again next time we are in the area.
We would rate this 5 stars for service, food and value but the buttons below will not work for us!

Stopping in robin hood bay for a few nights. Thought we would try the fish box out as it looked like a nice little fishery, and we regulary have a good fish and chips back home. Ordered two large fish and chips and a gravy. Portion size looked good and served within minutes- which is not always a good thing. Chips were really under done and fish didn't taste too fresh and the gravy was thick and tastless. Didn't eat really not enjoyable

The Fish Box enjoys a prime spot at the top of the hill overlooking Robin Hood's Bay and there are great coastal views from the tables outside.

I'm not an expert on fish to batter ratios, but after our hike from Whitby, sitting outside in the sunshine enjoying cod and chips in this stunning location was one of the highlights of our Yorkshire trip.

Service was efficient. Having placed your order, you need to listen for the staff to call out your ticket number. Typical waiting time is three to five minutes.

Confusingly, tartar sauce is not served with the rest of the meal. You have to take it from the drinks fridge opposite the serving counter.

Personally, I like a squirt of lemon juice with fish, but sadly it's the one thing they don't provide. Next time I'll take my own lemon!

On a glorious Sunday evening the place was doing a roaring trade, so I was surprised to see they insist on closing as early as 6pm. Does that make any business sense?

Had to give them a try as the usual fish and chip shop we use had a mechanical breakdown. Weren’t sorry as they were as good if not better than our usual shop.
