We had planned on having a Sunday Roast for lunch, but ended up reaching teatime before having a meal. After chatting with a local resident living nearby, we understood Mother Shipton Inn only served food until 7pm that evening....so suggested we get in quick as it was already 5.30pm.
Upon entering the bar area and enquiring if they were still providing food, a friendly gentleman behind the bar confirmed yes and gave us two menus to choose from. We chose a table outside by the river and ordered our meals. Hubby had the roast sirloin of beef with Yorkshire pud, roast potatoes and seasonal veg. I chose the calves liver with mash and crispy onions on top. Both meals were freshly cooked and were lovely. We congratulated the waitress in two lovely meals....at which time she explained the cook was a young girl of 17yrs who had been training and today was her first day without assistance.
All the staff were friendly and helpful and he food was very tasty and well presented and hot. Highly recommend and would intend to visit again when we are in the area.
