Visited our friends newly relocated in Yorkshire. As a birthday treat they took us to this restaurant in Harome.
What a delight, from the warm and friendly welcome, the pre dinner drinks by the log fire, and the excellent food.
Started with Parmesan rolls ( delightful) with a soup appetiser, then egg and asparagus followed by Sea Bream.

A stylish cosy hotel with an emphasis on unobtrusive personal service.
We stayed in plum cottage which was a self contained detached cottage with every possible convenience in it and a fabulous free standing bath in the bedroom. It has its own terrace but the snow deterred is from using this - we have already decided to come back in the summer!
The bar is very welcoming and we had amazing food from the taster menu with excellent accompanying wines.
Fabulously comfortable bed and a great election of snacks and drinks though we needed none we were so well fed.
Breakfast in the conservatory was excellent with a newspaper and a selection of loose leaf teas which was perfect for me.
Altogether a perfect escape for the night and felt like we had been away for ages. Can’t ask more than that!

We diverted to the Pheasant as a birthday special treat on a snowy day when our flight to another venue was cancelled - what a treat - the Pheasant is a very special place - we enjoyed a gorgeous dinner with friends; faultless in every way and some really creative touches which a little bit of theatre at the table (the cured hand carved salmon , candied lemon, lobster , top class cheese table.and a panacotta which was declared the best ever!) , good wine list with a prices to suit all tastes, lovely service and cosy decor, the rooms were really cosy and comfy and I almost disappeared in the bath bubbles! - a place at the top of its game (excuse the pun!) but truly I would unhesitatingly recommend the Pheasant for a special stay - we will save up and go again:) .

If you want a cookie cutter hotel this is not for you.
If you are somebody with consummate good taste who appreciates a warm, cozy environment where you are served great food by great people The Pheasant is definitely for you.
My wife and I have just returned from a four night stay and enjoyed every minute.
We stayed in The Mallard room with our dogs and eat in their restaurant on two occasions.
The room was perfect for us - lounge area, open fire, separate double bedroom and a small single bedroom that was configured to accommodate two children.
The public rooms are beautiful and the restaurant is perfect with the food being, quite frankly, off the Richter scale. The whole thing is perfectly managed by Liam who has that unique ability to offer great, characterful service without being intrusive.
Hotel ratings buttons were not working when this review was being compiled but we give 5 stars on all three dimensions.

Wow! What a fabulous review - thank you so much! We will pass your comments on to Liam and the team and are so pleased you (and the dogs) enjoyed your stay with us. Your comments about the food are also very much appreciated, we will make the hard-working kitchen team aware also. With our very best wishes, Peter, Jacquie and all the Pheasant Team.

We stayed at The Pheasant to celebrate a friends 50th birthday. Everything about the hotel was excellent and attention to detail was obvious from walking into the reception, to the rooms, the lounge and the dining room. The staff were excellent and attentive - I never had an empty glass!! The food was delicious and the breakfast choice was extensive. I would highly recommend this hotel.
