Well worth the steeply uphill walk from the centre of Austwick, but if any of your party are less mobile, old etc forget it. Some folk try to park up the lane nearer the rocks, but this is a bad idea as there are at most 2 spaces and even then you are restricting what is an already narrow track. I am a geologist, so I know what erratics are, but the area could well do with a few signs telling lay people what they are looking at.

On a lovely Dales walk from the Yorkshire village of Austwick some amazing boulders come into view. I think the correct terminology is 'geomorphological' features from the glaciation period in the North of England. Big boulders are perched on pedestals of limestone. Quirky and definitely worth a stroll to see them.

The Norber Erratics must be seen to be believed, huge rocks on top of smaller ones as a result of glacial action. Worth the climb to see them.

These massive limestone rocks have been teeter-ing onthe brink of a fall since the last ice age 17000 years ago and are an easy if uphill half hour stroll from Austwick
there are public footpath signs to Norber and once out of the village you can clearly see the rocks against the sky line

Amazing small area of individual limestone rocks near Austwick, Settle. Well worth a detour for a short walk in the hills.
