It is a tiny museum but very interesting. It has a collection from all over the area. I enjoyed it. The museum is free.

Great little local museum with some really interesting exhibits of old Melton and surrounding villages. Brilliant for children in the holidays with loads of activities for them to take part in. Excellent toilets if the need arrises.

The prices were overpriced and the staff was really offensive to me. I did not liked this museum and I will not go there again

The museum has good opening hours and is situated on the edge of the town centre.
It's well worth a visit if you are in the area. There is FREE on-street parking right outside, limited to one hour during the opening hours of the museum. There are displays on pie making, cheese making, fox hunting and more. There is a telephone box inside the museum with a display on communications and how times have changed. An interesting (small) section shows artefacts from the ANTI fox hunting lobby. This is (I presume) strategically placed away from the larger hunting displays, for which the town is associated. There are also explanations and drawings depicting "paint the town red" which I found very informative. There is an area housing temporary displays which changes periodically and there are childrens activities designed to stimulate interest in matters historical. Well run and staffed with helpful curators who will be delighted to answer questions. Free admission, donations welcome.
