We had a one night stay in May and the food there was excellent. The service from all the staff was really good. We both had the steak which was to die for. Would eat here again.

stayed at the Avenue Hotel ,rooms ok and most of our rooms were on the ground floor and on Friday and Saturday were subject to quite alot of noise. The staff were good and the breakfast is freshly cooked and has a reasonable choice. Evening meals lack the choice to make it worth using except as a last resort. The hotel is on a secure site but people catch taxis from th road next to the hotel and as such the ground floor rooms facing the road should be avoided.

Had the gammon, very small portion & very fatty & salty, the main menu wasn't on that night, was only about four things to choose from on the specials board so nothing at all to choose from!! Not much choice alcohol wise either, was going to try their cocktails but got told the sign was old & they didn't really make then anymore, she did offer to try & make us some but had no idea where to start!!
