“Lovely House, Lovely Town”

No. 17 is a Tardis. You manoeuvre your car your car into a gap in a narrow road and then open the door to what looks like a two up two down terraced house and suddenly you are in a stunning, light spaceship which goes back and back and up three floors. I have rented cottages and houses all over the country and have never been in one which was decorated in such an idiosyncratic way but which made us all feel instantly welcome and at home. There were six of us between the ages of 0 and 60 and Matt provides a house that is plenty big enough with space to spare with every mod con. Unlike many other rental properties there are sufficient glasses, plates and cutlery plus pots and pans provided to entertain probably 20-30 people (not that we did!) and thankfully a dishwasher (though some directions for use would help). I wouldn't recommend the stairs for anyone who is a bit wobbly though. Loved Whitstable as well. Being a Berkshire boy my British holidays from childhood have always been Dorset, Devon and westward and have never been to the eastern bits of Kent. Loved it. It was stepping back in time and no. 17 is in the middle of it. Pubs on every corner, great seafood places to overeat in, endless seaside walks, paradise. Why not 5 stars for no. 17? Because I never do. Too many people on Trip Adviser (when will they learn to spell?) exaggerate. Everywhere is either perfect or awful. There is always somewhere better. But Matt you have a great place. We loved it and I hope will come back.

“No, I am not on commission”
Reviewed 20 August 2014 for a stay in May 2014

We stayed in No 17 and were delighted with the standard of everything and the wonderful location. We were a stones throw from the lovely high street and great independent shops and restaurants. The house is so well equipped that, should you choose, you can eat in. We enjoyed our stay so much that we have booked again for next year (our third time in No 17.

“Lovely seaside cottage with everything you could need”
Reviewed 8 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Matt was quick to reply and very helpful, the cottage is really nice and well equipped with even little things we didn't expect to have which made the trip that bit better.
Whitstable is a nice town to be in for a few days, and the beach is good if you like pebbles!

“Lovely Seaside Cottage”
Reviewed 14 June 2014 for a stay in June 2014

We rented No. 17 for a girls weekend away (a group of 6) in June and it delivered everything we needed. The cottage is very well presented and equipped, it has a large and bright kitchen dining area with bi-folding doors opening onto a lovely sunny courtyard garden. The location is also perfect - it is within a few minutes stroll of the beach/harbour area, some great restaurants and pubs, as well as lots of individual quirky boutique style shops so you can forget about the car while you are there! It might be useful to note that the stairs up to the top floor bedroom are very narrow and steep so would probably not be suitable for either very elderly or very young children.
