Stayed here for two nights over Easter to visit Hever Castle. First impressions were good, nice rural location and lovely looking hotel. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful, room nice. The only thing that let the place down was the restaurant service. Decided to eat there on the second night after going to a local pub on the first (King Henry VIII pub down the road, would recommend). Made a reservation for 7.45pm. Waitress/restaurant manager took our order, seemed friendly. Took a long time for food to arrive. The steaks were good but the amount of sauce given was laughable- literally a spoonful in each of the jugs so we asked the waiter if we could have some more. He came back with some more for one of us but my friend had to wait for hers and when it finally arrived she had almost finished her meal so it was too late. Then it took forever for another young lad to clear the dinner plates and ask if we wanted the dessert menu (we did) .45 or so minutes later and we are still sat there. By this time only three tables occupied in restaurant. Friend tried to get attention of one of the waiters and was ignored. Young lad who was supposed to be getting dessert menus stood at front of restaurant doing nothing. In the end we had to get up and go and ask. He brought them over with the bizarre excuse 'every time I went to get some for you there were none there' .So at gone 10pm we finally had our dessert. To be fair the actual food was nice and we enjoyed our meals but there seemed to be no order or system in place with regards to the service/waiting staff especially since the restaurant was far from busy. Could maybe forgive it if they were run off their feet but it was dead. They did waive the cost of the dessert and waitress/barman seemed friendly and on the ball but let down by other waiting staff who didn't seem to know what they were doing. If it wasn't for this experience would've rated a lot higher.

A really lovely place to stay. Clean rooms, lovely staff and good food close to Hever Castle. What more could you ask for. I would really recommend this hotel. Unfortunately my husband had a bad fall while here and the staff couldn't do enough for us. They were brilliant! Very reassuring, professional and most of all kind beyond duty. I have no reservations about recommending this hotel.

Lovely location, room was nice had dinner, food was good seemed like they were short of staff very slow. Got up to have a shower no hot water breakfast was a nightmare ran out of hot food. It took 45 minutes for more hot food to come out. Walls very thin you can hear everything doors slamming and talking.

Me and my boyfriend stayed at the Hever Hotel for a night and had dinner in the beautiful restaurant.
The room was lovely and big although was difficult to find as the numbers for the rooms was scattered around.
Once we got to our room the table had stains on and the kettle had stale water. The bathroom was far to small; the sink was more of a bird bath and the shower was difficult to get to the right temperature. Although it is close to a airport, we both had a very good night's sleep.
The restaurant was wonderful although I have a nut allergy and the menu did not acknowledge what did and did not have nuts in. We asked the staff and while they did inform us it took awhile and I could not have many starters.
The staff were lovely and our waiter Haydn was a lovely guy who catered to our every need.

I bought an afternoon tea for four through travelzoo as it looked like a nice place. Worst service and afternoon tea ever. Although the restaurant was empty we waited for an hour and a half for our afternoon tea. The prosecco was warm and the finger sandwiches unbelievably sparse especially since I had paid for four and only three of us were there. When we complained the sandwiches were increased. Very disappointing given that it looks like a good venue. Also the dietary requirements I had phoned through a few days before completely disregarded.
