We especially visited The Green Cross Inn as we wanted a fish menu. Everything written online is absolutely true. On first impression the new houses built next door to this very pretty inn appeared overbearing, and the reviews show the inn has had a very difficult time, which we were very sorry to hear about. But please come to this fantastic restaurant! Good parking, prettily illuminated, and most welcoming. A lovely intimate atmosphere. We booked by telephone, were warmly welcomed and seated within minutes. The bar side is very quaint and pretty, the dining room bigger and quieter which suited us also. There are fresh roses and candles on each table. The service is immediate and outstanding. The fish is just delicious! We had oysters to start - beautifully presented fresh and scrumptious. Our main courses were sole in a lovely butter sauce, and king scallops - mouthwatering, melt in the mouth, beautifully presented again. We had home made pineapple sorbet for dessert again unusual and delicious. If we lived nearer we would be back every week. Menu is very varied and unusual - Come and try it. We loved it here.
