Had made a booking of 4 rooms at Queen Street Tap for a group of us visiting the Deal area to play golf. The booking was made through booking.com. I was made aware of the noise issues after the free cancellation date had passed, and it was clear to us that the noise would be a major problem as our stay was for Fri and Sat night. I give lots of credit to the owner and staff for a: Making us aware of the problem in advance (even though it was officially too late to cancel) and b: Waiving the cancellation fee as he managed to book the rooms to somebody else. I thought this showed great integrity.
My conclusion is that Booking.Com (or any booking website) need to be more pro-active in drawing attention the noise issue to potential bookers, as it was there was a short sentence buried away at about page 7 of a very lengthy email which I missed.More
