Don't stay here if you actually want to sleep. On a Friday and Saturday night there is a club night that finishes at 2.30am. Rooms are directly above this. This information is hidden in the 'fine print' tab on the booking.com website, presumably so as to trick people into booking. Why not put it on the main page? When you arrive and they tell you, they offer to refund half. Person on the bar said lots of people don't read the fine print so are disappointed. Personally, I feel tricked.

Room Tip: Don't stay on a Friday or Saturday night

I attended a preview lunch today, tomorrow evening is the opening of the refurbished Queen Street Tap. There is an excellent selection of craft beer, cider and wine. A good value cocktail menu and a large selection of gins. There are also traditional lagers for those who don't want craft beers. I had a very nice glass of Camden Pale Ale.

The menu is good value and there is a decent selection from traditional pub grub, to Tapas, to pizza. Our bill would have come to around £25 for two meals and two pints. I had beef in ale pie which was hot and delicious. It was accompanied by a choice of mash, chips or sweet potato fries. I went for the sweet potato option and was pleased I did. They were crispy and excellent. The vegetables were unusual, beetroot and green beans, but worked very well with the dish. My husband had beer battered fish and chips with mushy peas which he said was also excellent. I bumped into a friend and her young son as we left. She was very impressed with the steak and he with the pizza.

All in all I recommend Queen Street Tap highly based upon my experience today. It looks as though they are putting on some good midweek offers in future, such as 5 tapas dishes & 2 drinks on a Tuesday for £25 and burger and chips with a pint of craft beer on a Monday for £7.50. The service was excellent and the staff team friendly. They have paid some nice attention to detail with the decor and garden and have also invested in proper sound proofing. I hope it goes on to be successful, I shall certainly be visiting again.

Very noisy bar downstairs which can go on until the early hours!
Toilet seat in en-suite broken, mould growing inside shower cubicle and shelves hanging off the wall in bedroom. TV didn't work and unfortunately I'd booked in for a week!
Went to the King's arm's on Deal seafront the following week which was 100% better!

Room Tip: Go to the Kings Arms up the road
