“lovely, well equipped house within walking distance of a great beach”

We have just returned from a week at this house and it was great. On arrival we were immediately pleased with the accommodation. It was spacious, clean and well equipped for a holiday home. The highchair, stairgates and various toys were a real help. The welcome basket on arrival was a lovely touch.
Having the use of a separate shower room, toilet and bathroom was really useful with 3 adults, a teenager and a 1 year old all needing to use them.
The beach is only a short walk away and one of the quieter beaches at this time of year so we really enjoyed it.
Seeing then horses out the kitchen window was a real bonus.

“A genuine home from home that is perfect for both children and grown ups”

We have just returned from a fortnight at The Lobster Pot and we were genuinely sad to say goodbye at the end. We have two girls under three and it was perfect for all four of us.

The house itself is in a beautifully quiet close with fields to the rear where horses are kept and sea views at the front. Our two loved watching the ferries go back and forth from our bedroom window. And when the weather allowed us the huge decking area was a great place to sit with a glass of something when the kids had gone to bed.

The house is well stocked with toys but are well organised so it still feels like a grown ups house. (well after we tidied up at the end of each day!) The garden trampoline was used by our kids come rain or shine. The image of them bouncing up and down at 8.30am in their pyjamas, in the rain, will stay with me forever!

It is clear a lot of hard work has been put in to bring this place up to standard. All the fixtures and fittings are high quality and the beds and linen are lovely quality. Kitchen is well stocked with all the bits and pieces you will need. No need to bring anything for the kids but the bibs! The smart TV allowed us to keep up with Glastonbury, Euros and Wimbledon and the wifi is super, super fast as advertised.

The beach buggy is a great idea and we used it to push our two down to Seagrove Bay and Priory Bay several times. They were very happy in there. Dad definitely earned a beer by the time he had pushed them both back up the hill to the house. Seagrove Bay is 10 minutes walk away and is both sandy and gently sloping so has warm(ish) shallow water.

Nettlestone is a lovely little village and the local store opens 4am-9pm every day. Amazing. Plus a huge 24hr Tesco 10 mins away. Both very handy.

We settled in very quickly to this beautiful house and we were happy to come home to it after a days exploring.

We would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a family home on the Isle of Wight.

“Perfect IOW family destination!”

Before we arrived at "The Lobster pot" we had been told by a family member of its perfect location and when we arrived we were not disappointed. As you approach the property you are welcomed by a white and grey facade adorned with classic bunting. To the left of the front door are 3 lavender pots and beautiful hydrangeas. A little taste of the Hamptons in Seaview?? Through the garden gate is a small, quiet road which leads to a magical, hotel of yesteryear, The Priory Bay hotel. Apparently HRH William and Harry flew in by private helicopter only the week before our stay. A discreet and private hotel where they welcome children for high tea and locals for drinks. Once food has been purchased you are free to access their private beach which is just magic! We borrowed Frankie and David's beach buggy and our two boys both under 5 had a ball! Our baby girl enjoyed the walk down in the ergo sling and once there the boys loved using their complimentary buckets from The lobster pot.
Inside the house is everything you could wish for for a stay away from home. We took our 4 children 13,4,2 and 6 months and they all were very happy. Frankie and David have provided plenty of games and a fantastically informative folder listing all the local eateries, attractions and amenities. The downstairs shower room also contains a washing machine and tumble dryer which was such a relief to see! We arrived home and only had to do 4 loads of washing!! All bedrooms have blackout roller blinds and roman blinds so the rooms are nice and dark. Bedding is crisp white and bath towels are provided. The decor is tastefully stylish. Lots of ticking fabrics and seaside touches. I loved the posters! Where are they from?
Sadly we had poor weather so we didn't get to appreciate the fab garden for supper but the boys had a ball on the trampoline and I did get to use the Brabantia fold away clothes line. That's gone on my Home wish list!
We visited Osborne House, Blackgang, St Helens and The needles and all were a short drive from the property.
Frankie and David, thank you for a fabulous stay in Seaview. We look forward to returning again very soon.
