Our extended family of 12 adults and 3 children stayed at Windrush over Easter. The house was cold as the heating was not working properly. We had chosen the house so our 89 year old father could have a downstairs bedroom. This never warmed up properly and the lack of heating was exacerbated by an ill-fitting window. He eventually moved upstairs which wasn't ideal. The dishwasher did not work - imagine the washing up a party of 15 created! It was replaced after 4 days. There were numerous plumbing problems, the living room fire had not been maintained, curtains fell of the rail and so on. The owner did respond to some of the problems, but we really should not have had to suffer them for the £2,500 we paid for the week. As a matter of courtesy it would have been nice to have a welcome note on the table with some brochures and a pint of milk! On complaining Jamieson offered us a derisory £100 in compensation - less than £10 a head.

We stayed in the house for my boyfriends 30th birthday.
We were 16 people and still the house was big enough for all of us to sleep confortabily and have privacy.
The house is walking distance (20 min) of the ferry (west cowes) and town.
The views from the house on the sea side are fantastic since there is no building in front, just a school playground (or what it looked like it).
The garden is really big (enough for us to play cricquet!) and well taken care of.
All we can say is that we all loved it and many people congratulated me on the choice of house.
I would go back without thinking.
There were fourteen people on this trip and we found Windrush perfect for our needs, plenty of bathrooms/shower rooms and bedrooms and large table and chairs in the kitchen and dining room for us all to sit around.
The house was situated in the perfect position, not far from Cowes and central to all places on the Isle of Wight.
I would definitely recommend this house for large groups.
We stayed at Windrush over Christmas and had a wonderful time. The house is very warm and welcoming and the rooms really big so we had loads of space. Everything was as per the description, the weather didn’t support going outside which is a shame as the garden is nice and big and ideal for ball games. Would certainly recommend this to other guests.
The images for this property are deceiving! It all looks very inviting but from a recent holiday, our family know otherwise! As for everything being in 'working order' this was not the case. Customer care was also lacking when we got in touch with the agent over things that had not been addressed, things that had been highlighted by previous holiday makers from a couple of years ago!!!!! (Evidence in Guest Book)
Certainly did not warrant the high rates that we had to pay because of the number of things that were wrong with the property! And, no compensation!
To name but a few:
Outdoor Refuse bins overflowing with rubbish.
Oven door did not function properly, door didn't seal and one shelf damaged.
No curtains in attic room.
No trampoline as shown in the pictures.
Climbing ladder broke on second day.
Faulty door frame to garden.
Broken Garden chairs. (One chair broke when our two year old granddaughter sat on it on the first day there)
