This was a family weekend. It was, as it turned out, also the weekend for a wedding. This meant that the service was somewhat stretched, but we did not have any complaints - although some guests did have issues over the noise.
Very nice place, excellent staff and good food.
The 9 year old grandson appreciated the swimming pool, which I understand is well organised.
Recommended.

Our short stay at Forest Lodge Hotel was a pleasure from start to finish/ The staff were extremely welcoming, and this atmosphere continued in all aspects of our stay. The room was lovely, and the decor was really relaxing.
The breakfasts were substantial, with a wide selection of choices available. The dinners were really high quality, too. First class.
The Hotel was perfectly located to suit our plan of wandering around the area, sightseeing and relaxing. Plenty of space, and various communal rooms to relax in, if that is your choice, but our bedroom was well equipped and we were extremely pleased overall.

We came for a walking / relaxing few days. Was not disappointed from the start. Reception was welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. Room was clean and bed very comfy. We ate in the restaurant both evenings, the quality of the local produce was high. All the staff were happy and attentive, nothing was too much bother. I am quite happy too recommend this hotel.

The receptionist was fantastic very helpful and always happy to help, the swimming pool and sauna was great with towels for guest to use only down side was the trek up and down stairs to get there but well worth it.
Breakfast had a great selection but the eggs and bacon was like rubber, i like my egg soft but apart from that all good
Great location on the edge of Lyndhurst with a few pubs within walking distance. Will use this hotel again

Recently stayed here for a weekend away. I booked the four poster bed room under the impression this would ensure a larger room, unfortunately this wasn't the case. The room was small and had way of regulating the temperature, this wouldn't usually pose a problem but the radiator was turned off and the window was wide open and it was still very hot inside our room. There was also no fridge in the room so we couldn't keep any drinks cool. On our second to last day our keycard to the room failed on numerous occasions so went had to keep returning to the reception to try have the staff reprogram the keycard, but unfortunately failed each time. Eventually a staff member brought a master key and suggested we move rooms but as it was the last night we decided it would be more hassle than it's worth so said we would stay put. I can't fault the staff efforts but would of expected some form of compensation for the inconvenience. Ultimately nice location and friendly staff but I would say that the four poster room was certainly overpriced for what you got.
