Hotel and staff are good, so is the location. The major drawback is that this hotel uses the parking company Parking Eye.
On arrival you are met with car parking signs inside and outside the hotel threatening guests with a £90 fine if you misstype your car's registration number.
Additionally there is no way to check what you have typed into the parking eye system
Staff were aplogetic but this is an management decision to use a car parking company who have been widely criticised for their doubtful practices.

Dear Valued Guest,

First of all, thank you for taking the time to write a review. I am very glad that you found our staff and Hotel to be good and the Hotel is in a convenient location. Regarding Parking Eye, first of all we would never threat any of our guests with a £90.00 fine and the reason we use Parking eye is due to our location, and proximity to Old Trafford, the tram lines into the city centre, and MediaCity UK, so we have had to introduce a monitoring system in our car park to ensure our parking spaces are available for our residents during their stay.

I do hope that by us using Parking Eye, this does not deter you from staying with us again.

Kind Regards

Timothy Phillips

Really good to stay at the Holiday Inn Express, had not been there for a t least 4 years. It was good to see round Manchester. The Quays were good to look round and there is plenty to see, museums and other city stuff. Must get back to see more.

Room tip: just make certain you let them know what you need and they will help to make your stay really good.

Stayed three nights at the Holiday Inn Express. Excellent value for money. Staff wonderfully welcoming and efficient. Room spotless. Bed comfy. Breakfast self service, relaxing and filling. Bar comfortable. Really good spot for access to tram into Manchester centre ...just a short walk to the tram stop and then £3 return to Piccadilly...no headaches looking for parking. Parking at the hotel was cheap £4 a day. Wonderfully situated opposite water sports centre with water in front. Nighttime the reflections of the lights lovely....could image you were somewhere abroad...highly recommend this for short breaks.

Rooms, probably a bit better than expected. Beds really comfortable.
Walking distane to lots of restaurants. Our room had a great view over the river.

Rooms available early at 1pm, which was good. Check in staff and bar staff efficient, but overworked as normal in these hotels as they are multi-tasking. Everything nice and clean and rooms small but with comfortable beds. Shower efficient and spotlessly clean. The room was overlooking the Quay but nice and quiet within. The breakfast in the morning was well cooked with bacon, sausages, scrambled egg and baked beans with a choice of bread. Lots of pastries. Everything was being constantly replenished - a very efficient staff. The only disappointment was the lack of variety of fruit - only bananas on offer and fruit compote had run out by 9am. Unusual not to have a fruit salad on offer in a Holiday Inn Express!

Room tip: Overlooking the Quay is nice (at the back)

Dear Valued Guest,

Thank you for taking the time write a review. I am so pleased with all of the wonderful comments you have given us. It is lovely to read that our team on reception, the bar and breakfast were all efficient, which I am sure they will be pleased to hear about. it also gives me great pleasure to read that everything in our Hotel is nice and clean including the shower along with the comfortable beds you had that resulted in a great nights sleep.

Also I am glad that you enjoyed your well cooked breakfast that was being constantly replenished, which is great to hear. I am disappointed though that we had run out of fruit, however, going forward we do now offer bananas, green apples and satsumas.

I look forward to seeing you back at our Hotel in the near future.

Kind Regards

Timothy Phillips
