It's so disappointing to read the review of your recent visit to Berkeley Castle. One of things we're most proud of is that the majority of our visitors feel we represent excellent value for money. I wonder if perhaps you opted not to take advantage of our free guided tours and wandered around on your own. If so, perhaps you didn't discover all of the rooms that are available to our visitors.
The Castle is still a family home and has been lived in by the Berkeley family since they built it almost 900 years' ago; however the family occupy less than a third of the Castle. We have 19 rooms for visitors to view. These include some significant and spectacular areas - Great Hall, Drawing Rooms, Picture Gallery, Kitchen, Buttery, Morning Room, Kings' Gallery and of course, the cell where Edward II was imprisoned.
If you visited as a family I hope you were also able to enjoy free 'dragon themed' Easter entertainment, free arts & crafts, the dressing-up area and the Easter dragon hunt with a complimentary treat when completed. We also have 8 acres of gardens and grounds to explore.
If you do feel that perhaps you've missed out, please get in touch with us, it would be good to give you another opportunity to discover the many wonderful things that we have to offer. Thank you for your valued feedback.
