Lovely to have a welcome pack...including tea, coffee, biscuits, fresh bread, milk and cereal. The bed linen was crisp cotton. There was a fabulous garden, where our children played football, while I could sit in the garden , with a glass of wine, in the sunshine. Daphne was friendly and welcoming, without being intrusive..we knew she was on hand if there was a problem, or if information was required. If you have teenage boys, there is a fantastic mountain boarding centre 25 minute drive away. Have fun, and enjoy, in this very reasonably priced cottage, which does not appear to have school holiday premium.

“Totally relaxing and a beautiful location.”
Reviewed 19 April 2015 for a stay in April 2015

The Oast is very attractively furnished and is in a sunny location with country views. The walking in the area is delightful and nearby Mayfield offers good food. There is plenty to explore on foot or in a car in the area. the welcome pack from the owners and flowers in the bedrooms were very thoughtful and much appreciated.

“This cottage really is one of the best we have ever stayed in...”
Reviewed 8 March 2015 for a stay in March 2015

Plucked this cottage out of internet searches for a short break for three, and what a treat! The Oasthouse is spacious, well equipped, peaceful and in a very advantageous setting for touring the Kent/East Sussex Area. We were blessed with the best weather of 2015 so far on the first weekend in March, so that obviously added to the enjoyment of our two night break (I wish it had been longer). The parking is not the usual tight cottage parking (nor on the road), the bed is comfy and king size and the items in the cottage for use are almost everything you could wish for. The views are great....I could go on. Couldn't really fault this cottage and this is a credit to the owners who don't crowd your space, but are on hand if you need anything.

Liked best: Sheer comfort and space.
Liked least: Small roads to get there can be worrying if a car comes towards you!

“Perfect mini-break”
Reviewed 3 January 2015 for a stay in December 2014

Fantastic little cottage tucked away in the Sussex countryside. My boyfriend and I were there for 2 nights over new year, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. There are beautiful walks around - we walked to Mayfield and had a lovely lunch from the deli there, before heading back via fields for a very scenic route.

The cottage itself is perfect, easily enough space for 2 (and another spacious single bedroom), with good facilities for self-catering. The welcome pack on arrival was brilliant and a great touch.

Thoroughly recommend this cottage if you are after a peaceful break, and there is so much to explore if you drive around. I wish we had been able to stay for longer!

“Simply perfect”
Reviewed 20 November 2014 for a stay in November 2014

It was a perfect holiday home. Exactly what we were looking for. Very relaxing and cozy. We went with our 6 month old baby who seemed to enjoy the place as it was very homely and warm. The welcome pack was amazing. We would definitely come back for another relaxing weekend. :)
