Stayed here twice now ,so returning a second time must mean i found it its charm to my liking. Decided to give it a try after the local premier priced itself out of all reason and i was glad of the move . Sure its chaotic , dated , in need of a deep clean and renovation but i found it comfy and the staff very friendly . The food is ok and on par with most large pub chains but some dishes are home made .
Where the real splendor of this hotel lies is outside and boy will you be in for a treat . The gardens are fantastic with hidden seats everywhere, ponds and mini lakes stuffed full of koi and other carp ( and giant plastic peddle swans! ). Turn a corner you go from plastic birds to giant terracotta warriors ! . So if you can see past a few points and want to wake up in the morning to the sight of Emu"s , Lamas and other exotic animals .. like to explore and sit and watch the sun set rather than walk around a service station and a mcdonalds car park then give this place a look ! ..Price is very reasonable but i can imagine it gets a bit crazy if there is a wedding booked .More
