“Re-visiting Heaven for the 3rd time!”

This was our 3rd stay at The Piggery and I can say that we'll definitely be back for more! What else can I say that I already haven't said about this slice of Sussex-based heaven? Plenty, it seems! Living and working in London, you can feel the stress oozing out of you from the moment you step into the garden of this perfect haven of peace and tranquility. We had a couple of sunny days and a few wet ones. Well, it wouldn't be August without a spot of rain! But even that isn't a deterrent at The Piggery. There is so much to see and do in the area including woodland walks, farms and abundant historical sites of interest. Coming back to a relaxing drink on the decking by the stream is the icing on the cake after a busy day out. Although we opted for self-catering The Piggery is well stocked with basics such as tea, coffee, cereals and condiments. There is even a tempting mini bar! In wetter weather we enjoyed indoor visits to historical sites and 2 excellent pub meals at the nearby Hurstwood in Uckfield and The Cat in West Hoathly. Both are within easy driving distance. The Piggery is such a relaxing and homely space that staying in on a rainy evening is a cosy and welcoming experience. It is well stocked with interesting reading material as well as an excellent range of DVDs. Waking to the sounds of birds and a running stream is also a real treat for us city dwellers. However, despite the amenities and the utterly magical location, the real credit has to go to the hosts Jenny and Paul. Their extremely hospitable and easy-going nature make one's stay complete. Helpful, accommodating and so knowledgeable with regards to local information we cannot say thank you enough to them for letting us enjoy these precious breaks at their wonderful Piggery. We'll be back (if they'll have us!)

What can you say about perfection? After a long, hot journey, The Piggery is utopia, the perfect refuge to find calm against traffic chaos and a busy life. Comfortable and inviting we very quickly found ourselves relaxed and at ease. Jenny and Paul are very hospitable and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation is delightful, as are the surrounding gardens and countryside. We drifted into a blissful sleep lulled by the gentle sounds of rain dripping from the tress and woke refreshed. The breakfast was perfect, top quality produce and not over the top portion wise, we could not have wished for any more and it kept us fulfilled until the evening. We will be back and would recommend this place 100%

My boyfriend and I stayed in the Piggery for two nights and had a really relaxing time. Jenny and Paul were incredibly welcoming and accommodating. We enjoyed drinks by the stream and lit the fire in the cottage to make it cosy in the morning. It is in a great location where you can go for walks in Ashdown Forest or visit the local pub.
We would very much like to stay here again.

“Great couple, great accommodation, great food, great location. Great. Great. Great.”
Reviewed 17 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

I spent four days touring East & West Sussex, using Moss Cottage as my base. Jenny & Paul were most welcoming. They were both very friendly, and eager to do as much as they could to make my stay great. They cooked fab locally resourced food, for breakfast at a time of my own choosing. My room was the converted piggery.

“Perfect cottage break”
Reviewed 11 April 2015 for a stay in March 2015

We stayed at The Piggery for a long weekend in March and it provided a much needed break away from the city. Jenny and Paul were extremely affable and helpful and made us feel very welcome with a well stocked kitchen. The local pub, a short walk from The Piggery, did fantastic food, particularly their Sunday lunch. We look forward to our return visit in the near future.
