The warmth of the hotel interior was so comforting, we were pleased having booked with Radisson.
The check-in was hassle free and we were provided rooms in the basement floor.
The front desk staff was helpful in both providing information regarding available trips during our stay and with our booking as well.
Room was good. Breakfast lived up to the expectation with the Radisson standard.
Some hickups we faced
internet access need to be logged in every hour or so.
the bathtub separator glass was ineffective from avoiding water splashing all over the bathroom floor

Room Tip: Request for a room on the top / first floor as the hotel does not have elevator to the basement floo...

Good evening,

We are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us here at Radisson Blu Polar in Longyearbyen! And thank you for informing about our "hickups" ;-) We are always looking for ways to improve our selves and this will help!

If you want to come back and visit us again one day I can reccomend April-March. Then the sun is coming back and the snow is still here so everything is all pink. Truly beautiful

Have a nice week !

Kind regards
Reception
Thea

I stayed 3 nights for a conference here in Spitsbergen, this place is like nowhere else I have ever stayed. Isolated yet comfortable and the staff are friendly and helpful. We had breakfast and lunches provided and the food was very good and featured Norwegian fare.
My room was a junior suite, spacious and comfortable with a good size tv, lounge and work desk. Nespresso coffee machine and mini bar.
There's bars and restaurants within an easy walk in the -1c evening.

A memorable stay in this arctic location.

Hello Riccardo,

Im happy to hear that we were able to offer you a comfortable stay on your business trip. Hope you got some time to enjoy some of the activieties and experiences this town has to offer as well! If not - I can really reccomend the snowmobile trips under the northern lights in the dark season! Our last day with sun is actually tomorrow the 26th of October and untill the 8th of March it will be dark all day up here. But no worries - we have candles and nrothern lights to keep it cosy :-)

Kind regards
Reception

The hotel is located close to the airport (5 minutes by bus) and also to the local port. Some of the rooms are in the main building (as is the restaurant and the conference room) and some rooms are located in a separate building. The staff in the hotel is nice and helpful (we had some issues with the heating and they immediately fixed it). I very much enjoyed the breakfast - not only the food but also the view from the restaurant.

Good evening,

We can agree with you on the veiws from restaurant Nansen. Having both breakfast and dinner there truly provides us with a breathtaking veiw of Hiortmountain and Adventvalley.
Tonight our guests got the Northern lights dancing outside together with their meal !

Let us know if you are eager to come back and visit us again and we will be more than happy to reccomend both good seasons and activeties to do here!!

3 comfortable days with good food and a seemingly welcoming staff until 13 hours after check-out. Due to fog, our 02:30 flight was cancelled. At the airport we were told to return to the hotel where we had last checked out. Having checked-out at 11 am previously that day we were concerned that a difficulty might arise and asked 2 different customer aides at the airport if there would be room at this hotel and we were told to just get on the bus that would bring us back to our hotel. Arriving back at SAS Radisson Blu at 2 am, where we had spent 3 comfortable nights and felt 'at home' we were informed that under no circumstance would they take us back; that the unused rooms were already paid for by the passengers who could not arrive due to the fog. Even though check in is not until 3 pm and our flight was due to depart at 12pm , 9 hours later, we were clearly told that we would have to go somewhere else. At this time of the year it is light at 2am so we were sent out into the rainy Svalbard streets dragging our baggage to the next hotel down the road then left then some. No question if we could manage or offer of help was offered. Perhaps we were considered to be one of the hardy inhabitants of the North pole, a compliment in afterthought.

The negative experience was due to the complete lack of concern for our well being as the (gender neutral) person at the reception's only concern was that on no account would the 'available room' ( we needed only one) be made available to us since another party, stranded in Troms, had already paid for the room. These passengers were due to arrive at 11am, and we would be on that same plane at 12.. Now 18 hours later, incapacitated with sore throat and headache after getting completely soaked and chilled I hope that the next guest /ex-guest will be more warmly welcomed.

Junior Suite, nothing special. Powerless shower. Breakfast ok, nothing more. Staff a bit slow. Didn't get housekeeping because we had "Do not disturb" sign on until 10:00 am. Had to go three times to the lobby that day before we got new towels.
