The track is long and hot but not particularly physically challenging, if you just plod along eventually you get to the top. The views are good but not terribly outstanding. We did see several eagles riding the thermal currents, a couple of Koala's asleep in the trees and the odd leaf cutter nest, all added to the walks interest factor. It is a nice day out but nothing extraordinary.

Worth wandering along this track to view historic ruins of the Australian Defence Force station that helped protect Townsville from the Japanese during the Second World War. Spectacular views from the top and you can also see sleepy koalas at close range. Good interpretive sign near the track entrance explains it.

Had a great time. We walked to the top just in time for sunrise and the view was great .We also saw few koalas on the way back.

We did the walk at about 9am which we completed in just under 2 hours. The majority of the walk is easy with only small inclines/declines were as the last portion of the walk was rather intense was steep rocks to climb. Once you reach the top the view is certainly worth the walk! Highly recommend at least 2litres of water per person as there is only 1 drinking tap positioned at the beginning of the climb.

This hike is ok, especially if you like to see wild koalas. We have seen two and that made this walk very special for us. The ruins of the Forts are ok, nothing special.
