Don’t bother.Most of the carvery food was either on the floor or over the counter so opted for a salad.encouraged to use the App to order but not advised of the wait! After an hour I enquired if our salads were on their way and was advised things were piling up in the kitchen! After and hour and a half I chased again to be told that they were busy despite the restaurant being almost empty - surely a salad doesn’t take and hour and a half to prepare! When it did finally arrive some of the basic salad ingredients were missing despite being listed on the menu. Not a single piece of tomato or cucumber! the chairs are dirty and the table so sticky we had to use the menus as table mats.Will never go there again.

Food aweful no carvery so we ordered 3 cheese burger meals and 1 chicken burger meal plus 2 neck oil . Food dry chips warm presentation just chucked in a bowel No love in food the waitress new we was unhappy to be honest there was more staff then customers . Felt sorry for the entertainment guy as was quite good but no one there to entertain. Outside the holyblue it says under new management thats why we thought we would give a try . Never again there is so many resturants in pevensey and pevensey bay pubs will use them in furture .

My wife and I booked to eat for 6pm arrive a few minutes late (temp roadwork lights in Stone Cross ) However we were seated and ordered by 6.15 staff said nothing to us about problems and wait. Then the wait. By 6.55 asked what was happening and told only one chef but we were second in the queue. By 7.25 still no food enquired again told our meal was being plated up and so it came out but an hour and ten minutes to wait for fish and chips and scampi and chips. Had we been told on arriving of the hour wait we would have cancelled and got to Churchills at Langley Shopping Centre. No customer care not even offered a complimentary drink as we had drunk the drinks we ordered with the food long before the food arrived. The waitress did apologise for the wait and the food was good.

First time visiting here, quite possibly the last.. having booked for Friday evening, not late, we received a phone call saying there was no carvery, not an issue as wanted meals from the main menu, arrived and was promptly seated. Ordered our food… 45 minutes later we still hadn’t received our meals, on asking we were told “you should have been told when ordering there was a wait” … we certainly wouldn’t have stayed had we known that… we decided to wait as our food was being cooked.. when it arrived we were very disappointed and will not return anytime soon. This place could do with a refurbishment also!!

We used to visit the Holly Blue but stopped when it became rather seedy and run down. However having read positive reports about new ownership..staff from the Grand and the Crown and Anchor….and good reviews since April we decided to give it another try.
I booked about a week early and confirmed the day before. An hour or so before our dining time I received a phone call to say there was no carvery that evening. Not wanting a carvery this wasn’t a problem. We arrived on time and was met at the door where we were told there was an hours wait for food! 2 chefs hadnt arrived. Needless to say we decided not to wait, and I’m sorry to say we won’t be returning. What else can I say?
