“A Fantastic week with Family in a perfect location”

We wanted to find somewhere with character, where we could be left to our own devices and all be under one roof! So i was very pleased to find The Old Angel but I was a little worried after reading some of the reviews. I have to say this house is beautiful and just as described. Yes its OLD its is suppose to be! But it was warm, cosy, clean and the staff were very welcoming! We had young children which resulted in lots of requests that we had not been expecting. The staff were easy to contact but did not intrude at all on our time in the house. A fantastic 5 days which I cannot fault!

“A lovely long weekend with the Family”

Had a lovely stay here with my family last week. The Inn sleeps 12 and finding somewhere where we can all be under one roof is always tricky! We have found somewhere in the middle of the country equidistant between our spread-out family and it was perfect. The Inn was cosy and I have no complaints. perfectly situated to shops and a lovely English Pub.

“Lovely old building let down by heating”
Reviewed 22 November 2015 for a stay in November 2015

We arrived early Friday evening in November to find all the radiators were on the frost setting. Being an old building it didn't warm up at all that night. Not helped by the owners not supplying at least a welcome box of wood and coal for a fire on the first evening.
The kitchen is well equipped with catering sized kettles and teapots which did make it look like a Youth Hostel kitchen added to by the unpleasant tablecloth.

A lot of the light bulbs didn't work which meant in November the rooms were dark. Our bathroom also had the most awful smell rending it unusable.

On the plus side the bathrooms that didn't smell were lovely and lots of hot water. The building also certainly has a lot of character.

Thank you for taking the time to write the review, we have made changes to ensure the heating is on well in advance of our guest arrival in the future, the catering size kettle and tea pots have been purchased as a request of previous guests that wanted the option to have a cuppa all at the same time, Im not sure what was wrong with the table cloth these are 100% white cotton and are hired in from a local linen suppliers, as part of our insurance schedule we are not permitted to supply any fuel for the fire, the shop next door has ample supply.

We have just spent a lovely weekend at The Old Angel. The house is full of character and is right next door to the village shop, which was really handy. The rooms are a good size and had very comfy kingsize beds. Lots of towels and extra bedding was available along with robes and slippers for everyone.
The kitchen was great for large family meals and the sitting room was cosy and inviting with a big coal fire.
Included in the price was private access to the nearby swimming pool for 1 and 1/2 hours each day, where we took our baby for her first swim. We had a great time and would visit again.
