We loved it there. The place is very nice and confortable. We were six so me and my husband had to sleep in the living room's sofa-bed and that wasn't very confortable for you can feel every single spring of the mattress. Other than that, everything was perfect. We'd definitely come again.

“Perfect cottage for a break in the Peak District”
Reviewed 2 September 2016 for a stay in August 2016

Perfect cottage for our family, very well equipped with everything you will need for a great break in the Peak District. Very clean and tidy with plenty of room for us all ( two adults, three children and a Cocker Spaniel) The village of Litton is very friendly, quiet with some splendid walks. Village shop and Post Office and the pub across the green. Can't wait to return again sometime soon.

“Great experience, newly refurbished bedrooms, excellent location”
Reviewed 20 July 2016 for a stay in May 2016

The location is perfect; opposite of a pub (food there is ok; very busy on the weekend so recommend booking a table). The village is small; so not crazily busy which is a plus if you're there on a bank holiday weekend. The cottage itself is cute and cozy. We had a great time cooking and eating in the kitchen which had everything we needed. The bedrooms were just refurbished when we were there, which was great. There is also some outdoor seating which would be great during good weather. Overall, a great experience and highly recommended.

“Very nice cottage in a good location”
Reviewed 12 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

We stayed in this cottage for two nights with two children, and for us, it has all the things you will expect. We think it is in very good condition and very clean and tidy. We can't fault it in any way. The communication with Caroline, the owner, was really good; she replies very quickly to any email. Also the location is great for exploring the Peak District; everything is 20-30 max away. For us it was our first visit to the area and we love it. Another attraction of the location is the local Pub , The Red Lion; it is literally across the road from the cottage and it is a very nice pub serving good food. too; we visit it everyday we were there. We definitely would like to come back again and we will not have any doubt in choosing the same cottage/location.

“Simple cottage, OK for a family break”
Reviewed 12 April 2016 for a stay in March 2016

Traditional cottage in the small village of Litton. Simple and clean and OK for a small family but could do with a bit of TLC in some areas, like the bathroom and shower. Reasonably kitted out small kitchen and an open coal fire in the lounge which was a nice feature. Otherwise no particularly homely touches.
Fine for a family break but nothing luxurious.

Dear JonRambo,
Thank you for your review.
I am glad you found Cross View suitable for a family break, because we are family friendly, as you can see from our Families Welcome logo.
The bathroom and shower are due to be fully refurbished in the autumn.
Generally though, Cross View gets plenty of TLC, because we want to give our guests a good holiday experience and send them home with happy memories.
Since the start of 2016, we have redecorated and re-carpeted the stairs, landing and bedrooms. The bedroom furniture, bedding and soft furnishings are all new, as are the pictures on the walls, (photographs of the Peak District by leading local photographers).
We aim to provide everything our guests need and to give good value for money. We hope our competitive prices will mean our guests have a bit left over in the holiday budget to treat themselves to a few luxuries.
