“Lovely cottage, so much space...”
Reviewed 25 April 2016 for a stay in September 2015

This cottage was a late find on the internet and we weren't disappointed. It's is very spacious with so many rooms available with the accommodation. There was an outhouse where you could change after walking, logs could be stored for the fire etc. A lounge which housed a huge sofa (very comfy) and the table transformed into a snooker table, my boyfriend was delighted with that find! The kitchen again was very spacious and homemade chocolate brownies were left as a welcome gift. There was also a downstairs loo. Upstairs there was a shower/bathroom, a double bedroom, a room with two single beds and then the master bedroom which was huge, even having it's own seating area. The owners live in a separate part of the cottage too, next door. Don't let this put you off though, the owner was very friendly and was only there if you needed her. We did a lot of walking using the cottage as a base. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Would recommend a visit, I would definitely stay again.

“Fantastic location, superb facilities”
Reviewed 22 March 2016 for a stay in March 2016

we stayed for the weekend as a group of friends for a re union. the cottage was beautifully decorated and the lounge was very cosy with a log burner, which was already made up for us with spare logs. we just needed to light it.
the bedrooms are fantastic, especially the main bedroom with a lounge area for drinking tea and gossipping in the morning before we went for a lovely walk from the door. the bathrooms were all spotless with lovely fluffy towels.
Great local pubs for dinner but none on village

great stay would strongly recomend it

“Family getaway.”
Reviewed 14 February 2016 for a stay in February 2016

I have looked hard and long for a venue that would accommodate my family and two dog's, Groom's Quarters was a great find, Photo's don't do the property justice, rustic and genuine old world feel, great walk's on he doorstep, if you need groceries it's only a few miles away, but it seems like a world away.

“Cosy, comfortable cottage in the heart of the countryside”
Reviewed 4 January 2016 for a stay in December 2015

We booked The Groom's Quarters for a short stay over Christmas while visiting family in Ashbourne. It provided the perfect accommodation for us but it was so much nicer than the website photos suggested and provided us with a really comfortable and cosy stay. The bedrooms are all very comfortable and warm and two of them are huge. There are two upstairs bathrooms, both very clean and in very good condition, as well as further downstairs toilets. The lounge is very cosy with a lovely log burning fire - perfect for the winter. The surrounding area is beautiful but due to the poor weather we didn't explore it much. But at night it is silent apart from the sound of very nearby owls. Ann, the owner living on site had put up some Christmas decorations including a tree, had made some lovely chocolate brownies for our arrival and left a bottle of wine for us to enjoy. The property is quite hard to find especially if arriving after dark. We would stay there again.

“Beautiful cosy winter break”
Reviewed 24 November 2015 for a stay in November 2015

We just had a perfect weekend at the Grooms Quarters for my mum's 60th-a close family group with 2 babies. The cottage is immaculate and felt luxurious, but it also felt like home immediately. Ann the host was very accommodating. Beautiful surroundings to discover too. We'll be back, no doubt - thank you!
