“Fantastic apartment, great panaramic views, loved it.”
Reviewed 15 October 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Title says it all and as you can see from other reviews the apartment is well stocked and comfortable. I loved the fact that there were book in the hallway a lot about the local area. There was the added bonus of having a washer and dryer available.
The sun comes around to the front of the building in the late afternoon so it was perfect for sitting on the balcony in the late afternoon with a cup of coffee and people watching, the promenade was busy with people many walking their dogs and with the minimal traffic going into the dock area it was a quiet location. The views of the sunsets was spectacular, we had fairly good weather so got to see the sun go down and the harbour lit up at night and I did on occasion find myself up in the middle of the night watching the lights flicker. Personally I found it fascinating and I can understand why people want to live with the view.
The town is a bit run down but there are places to visit both in the town and around the area and plenty of places to eat, we did eat the The Waverly Hotel which is just round the corner and the food was plentiful and not over expensive and the raspberry pavlova would be well worth another visit on its own. There are also loads of take-aways close by so you can never be short of food.
I would recommend if you are looking for a good quality property with easy access, there are 2 lifts and they were quick and clean, the whole property was clean and access to the garage was good.
Would go again.

“Excellent holiday apartment”
Reviewed 6 October 2015 for a stay in September 2015

This apartment is everything I need and being disabled my needs are complex. It is unusual to find such an apartment that suits my needs, is in a great location and has all the services I need. It is spacious enough for me to get around with my extra wide walker so should prove no problem to a wheelchair user. The one lift that was working is big and clean. The private secure car park was clean and well lit. The spaces are narrow. (not suitable for a SOLO wheelchair user). The apartment is well equipped, clean and modern. The showers are excellent. The only downside was that all the furniture and beds are lower than usual. We are looking to book again twice next year and will take our own blocks to raise the bed and sofa. Apartment already recommended to friends and family.

“Great Sunsets”

We have been travelling to this part of the world for over 30 years as my wife has family in the area and have seen many changes.
The regeneration of the harbour side has transformed this part of the town.
We have stayed in all kinds of accommodation over the years but the apartment in Pears House is by far the best location in the area.
If the weather is kind to you sitting on the balcony looking out across the harbour is a joy, the sunsets are amazing you could easily imagine you were in a Mediterranean resort.
The apartment is spacious, clean and well appointed, it is located within walking distance of everything in the town.
The railway station is a 5 minute walk away giving you access to St Bees a small village to the South with the best beach in the area.
Further South is Ravenglass where you can catch a train on the narrow gauge railway to the Eskdale Valley.
In the other direction you can catch a train to Workington where you will find many more shops than in Whitehaven.
Picking up the key to the apartment was very straight forward and everything was as advertised, there was a good WiFi signal which was a priority for my children.
We will be sure to stay here again when visiting the area.

“Wonderful apartment with wonderful views”
Reviewed 15 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Getting the keys was not a problem just as described, easy. Parking in the underground car park is a little tight but you get used to it. Everywhere is clean, car park/entrance to apartments/outside car parking area/bin storage. The lifts were spotless & efficient. The car park main gates open from the car by pressing the remote, they open slowly so you don't have to keep pressing it. The fob you press onto the pad at the pedestrian gate no issues. The apartment was well maintained, clean & very welcoming. The views are amazing & gave us hours of enjoyment. Bedrooms adequate, not big but had everything in them (except a mirror near the plugs for hair-drier etc). Tip, shut the bedroom windows at night or the seagulls will wake you up at stupid o'clock. The showers will blow your heads off, wonderful. Everything you will need is catered for in the kitchen & there is a cupboard with washer & dryer in. Enjoy, we did!

Very comfortable apartment, well appointed in a great location. Easy walking distance of supermarket and local businesses. Thoughtful additions - pantry items, books, CDs etc. Loved our stay - thanks!
