“Lovely place to stay”
Reviewed 6 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

We had a great week here. Ideal location both in terms of being in a quiet village (with all all amenities on hand) and lovely view over the river. Yes a tight squeeze in the car park but our Passat could manoeuvre just fine and get in and out. Only slight negative would be that the cleaners maybe weren't doing what they should be as it seems liked it could do with a vacuum due to many hairs being found on carpets/furniture. Overall a good place to stay and would return

Thank you for your review and I am glad youhad a great week. I am very sorry about the cleaning and will pass your comments onto the agency to whom I pay (a lot of!) money to clean it and will await their comments.

“Great location at a great price.”
Reviewed 14 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

A lovely, clean, comfortable, well-equipped cottage, convenient for both the north and south Lakes and, if you have the bottle, the western Lakes via the Hardnott pass west of Clappersgate. And all for, at Lake District prices, an absolute steal.

“Exactly what we needed”
Reviewed 5 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

Small, but not too small, comfortably accommodated my Wife, 15 year old son, dog and I. Lovely balcony over a small stream which was very pleasant to sit out on, after a long days walking, catches the afternoon and evening sun to perfection.

Very well equipped, with a lovely shower downstairs as well as bathroom upstairs. Only thing that stops it being perfect is a slightly cramped courtyard to park your car in, used by two other cottages, space to turn around in is minimal and I was not confident to reverse out of what is quite a narrow entrance into an equally narrow lane.

Thank you so much for taking the time to post a review. I am glad you and your family enjoyed your stay. The balcony is one of my favourite places to unwind, too. the car parking is, as you say, tight but do-able. We've had a large four wheeled drive in there and my neighbours are usually pretty good about moving their vehicles if needs be.

“Peaceful”

What a lovely place this is. Very peaceful and relaxing cottage. The river really does pass by the living room and it was lovely to see so many birds feed from the river. Three of us stayed here and there was plenty of room for us. The cottage has everything you need - books, DVD's, local maps etc. Staveley is a my favourite place to stay in the Lakes. The village has everything you need and some nice local walks. We could have stayed longer and we will definitely be back to stay at this cottage. Thanks for a great stay.

Thank you for taking the time to post a review. I am so glad you had a great stay. Like you, I love watching the birds on the river from the balcony - though I am still waiting for the kingfisher seen by several guests over the last few years. I am glad you hope to return - you will be most welcome.
