Reviewed 26 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

We had the most amazing stay.our cottage was just fabulous well set out and cleaned to a high standard. The bed was so comfortable and the views from our cottage were amazing. We will most definitely recommend this idyllic place to anyone so much to do in the area.we would most definitely give Bridge End Farm ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“Fantastic location and property”
Reviewed 21 March 2016 for a stay in March 2016

I arrived in Boot and was very pleasantly surprised at how beautiful it was. The directions given by the staff at Select Cottages were fantastic, very easy to read/understand considering I can't get anywhere without my sat nav.
On arrival at the cottage the staff were very friendly and informative. The cottage was even more beautiful than the pictures. It was spotless, well catered for and the views are to die for.
There was a pint of milk, tea, lovely biscuits on arrival. The cottage already had shower gels, shampoo, dishwasher tablets, washing liquid, use of the washer and dryer, sky TV.
I fell in love with boot and Whillen Beck.
just around the back there is a lovely seating/picnic area. Use of the BBQ in summer.
I would highly recommend the cottages as a first choice in Boot. All the fells are easily accessible from here along with the waterfalls and Eskdale is just lovely.
I cannot recommend this place enough. Get booking!!!

“Relaxing, Picturesque escape!”
Reviewed 8 January 2016 for a stay in September 2015

My Girlfriend and I wanted a week away from London and this was exactly what we needed. The cottage is lovely, the perfect size for a couple, with lovely views of the hills from our bedroom and kitchen. We were fully self-catered and had everything we needed. The staff are very helpful and friendly too.
The Village has a little shop and a pub very close by and the cottage is located at the bottom of hills which offer a variety of different walks from light to more intense depending on your mood or experience. We spent hours walking and exploring and really enjoyed it. There are also maps in the cottage with very interesting and enjoyable walks to follow too.
I left the holiday feeling very relaxed and refreshed.

“Absolute perfection”

Whillan Beck Cottage. Just wow. We'd driven some four hours in Friday evening rush hour traffic, navigated the M6, and some of the most interesting (and at times cow/sheep filled) country roads I've ever seen. We arrived around 7pm, just as it had gone dark. Even in the reduced light, the outside of the buildings took our breath away.

We parked up, found the keys and headed to our little cottage for two. We walked in and were taken aback by the cute, chocolate box like feel. Talking of chocolate boxes, there were some waiting for us on arrival; along with champagne and flowers. We spent the first night in the cottage, and found the cottage to be the perfect place to get toasty, have a few drinks and enjoy the board games supplied.

The facilities are perfect for a couple. The bedroom was stunning, with double doors out on to a view overlooking the stream running by. Quite possibly the best way to start day. There's plenty to do in the area, whether that be visit the local pubs in the village, take the steam train out to the coast, climb up a mountain, or go for a wander into the woodlands to discover stunning waterfalls.

We had a magical weekend in a hidden gem in the Lakes, made even more special by the accommodation we were lucky enough to stay in for 2 nights. Parking's good, facilities are first rate and the surrounding area is idyllic.

We'll definitely be looking at booking again for sometime in the summer.

“We think of this cottage often and look forward to returning!”

My wife and I stayed at the Whillan Beck cottage for three nights and loved it. From the cottage we visited Ullswater Lake, Coniston, Grasmere, and Keswick. The cottage was a fantastic home base for these excursions: it was away from the hustle and bustle of some of the more touristy spots, and we enjoyed beautiful drives while exploring the Lake District. The cottage was a very comfortable place to relax in the evenings after sightseeing; and the immediate vicinity of the cottage was an area I'd have liked to spend more time: there's a delightful pub in walking distance of the cottage that we enjoyed one dinner at. The grounds outside the cottage are lovely, with places to sit and read in beautiful surroundings. And a bit farther afield but still in walking distance are the ruins of an old Roman fort. Next time we visit I'd like to spend a day or more just around the cottage.
