Owner description: Discover the secret world of nuclear government. For over 50 years this vast underground complex, remained secret, hidden on the outskirts of a sleepy Cheshire town. Declassified in 1993, the 35,000 sq ft underground bunker would have been the centre of Regional Government had nuclear war broken out. The bunker today offers a warm welcome to anyone looking for a totally different day out.

Good museum with a wide range of materials on display. Interesting but rather a lot to read in one visit.

This place is AMAZING, like walking onto a film set of a Cold War movie. There is so much equipment on show that it does look a bit cramped, but your imagination boggles at trying to work out what it did and it's bigger than you imagine. Just the parts you can see seem to go on forever. If you take any children just get their imaginations working on what the place did and what it might have had to do, given that an average smart phone now probably has more computing power than the entire complex. Nice little café/naffi as well.

It’s worth a visit for an hour or two, but some extra care is needed for some of the exhibition items. Some of them did have visible mold growing on them. There’s a lot of items packed onto the shelves and maybe they could be spread out more so you can actually see what they are. I did like seeing all of the old electrical equipment. Something different for an afternoon.

Given the role this site could’ve played in British history our visit proved a little bit disappointing. The drive to the site certainly built up the expectation but the tour while well laid out didn’t quite gel.Probably if a guide had been provided the tour would’ve come more to life. But very interesting nevertheless
