“Excellent views from balcony”

A wonderful place! It rained for three days of our stay, but that didn't matter because the barn was lovely. We particularly liked the spiral staircase and the four-poster bed. We couldn't use the balcony much, but it was amazing to stand up there and look across the fields at sunset.

The area is surrounded by National Trust properties although we only visited Stowe due to the weather. Bletchley Park is also well worth a visit - good for a rainy day!

Liked best: Spiral staircase and balcony
Liked least: Potholes in track to farmhouse - they'll fill them in if it stops raining

“Lovely and peaceful”
Reviewed 27 April 2014 for a stay in April 2014

We spent a week at Ember Eve Barn at Easter. We found extremely comfortable accommodation. The fact that the weather allowed us to use the lovely balcony for our evening aperitif was a bonus. It was a lovely peaceful place to return to after a days visiting.
Plenty to see and do in the area.

Liked best: Comfortable outside space on balcony
Liked least: Perhaps lack of walking maps and wifi intermittent but nothing that spoilt our enjoyment.

“A Perfect Hidden Gem”

My husband and I had a wonderful stay in this beautiful barn.

On arrival, we were struck by the peace and tranquility which surrounds the barn. There are flowering fields to look at from every angle. There's plenty of space to park any sized vehicle outside.

We walked through the cute stable door into a grand lounge and dining area. The interior is absolutely gorgeous with tasteful furniture and a well stocked fat log burning stove to enjoy, which Jimmy and I did most evenings.

The kitchen has everything you could need and more. We received a lovely basket of goodies to get us started and were pleased to find a full sized dishwasher and a washing machine to use. There's even an airer tucked under the bed.

The bedroom has a lovely comfortable 4 poster bed and antique furniture and the bathroom is immaculate with a shower so powerful it could knock you out. Everything you could possibly want or need for a retreat and a get away has been provided by Christine and she even went as far as putting fresh flowers in every room. We were also spoilt with the smart tv.

We enjoyed a glass of wine watching the amazing sunset from the decked balcony.

I would highly recommend making a detour to Ember Eve Barn if you can. You will leave refreshed and relaxed.

“My girlfriend and I had an excellent stay at the Ember Eve Barn.”
Reviewed 9 February 2014 for a stay in February 2014

Everything we were looking for in a barn in the English countryside. Peace and quiet, very relaxing, and the barn itself is very clean and well maintained with everything you would need. Not far from some stores and restaurants, too.

“A Perfect New Years Getaway”
Reviewed 8 January 2014 for a stay in December 2013

Everything about Ember Eve - the barn itself, its surroundings and hospitable owner, Christine, made for a perfect and romantic week away from the city. We would definitely recommend Ember Eve to anyone looking for a tranquil hideaway. The barn has been put together with real care and love and exudes character and warmth, with a genuine sense of style and personality. The log burner was a real selling point for us, as it was a good size, kept us warm and was very romantic! Also the balcony, spiral staircase and four poster bed, added a wonderful and magical feel to our holiday. We'd give it 6 stars if we could! And will definitely be planning on returning. Thank you Christine!
