Friendly staff, good food, resort is in dire need of repairs ( mother in law fell twice over broken pavement ). Seems the emphasis is put on the zoo and no attention is put on the resort. Only about half the staff speak English. Resort beach really sucks. They will cart you to another beach location but it's very inconvenient. Nice little pool play area for the kids. Resort is too close to the highway. Neighboring resort is very loud and everything can be heard through the thatched roofs of the rooms.

Room Tip: Don't stay in the upper rooms with the thatched roofs or any of the rooms that are close to the animal pens.

If you want quiet than this is a good place to go. It is a huge complex with 9 groups of rooms spread out. We stayed in 506, room was nice size and king size bed was comfortable.. They have a golf cart circling the resort every 10-15 minutes to bring you to different areas but we just walked. Food was slightly above average and staff was friendly. Beach that the shuttle brought you to was very nice but they need to improve on the food at the beach. I do feel sorry for the animals though.

The resort is very different, it has a odd method for the all inclusive guests. For all your meals and beverages you must sign the bill and give your room number. The bill shows the total amount for what you have ordered and is a bit intimidating, however upon check out we had no problem and owed nothing further. Other resorts we have been to just see your wristband.
It is very quiet here and no race to hold lounge chairs either at the pool or on the beach, there are plenty for everyone.
It is a large property with villas spread through the trees. The rooms are large with a huge balcony or terrace. Two chairs, a table two lounges and one hammock for each room.
There are two person jet tubs in all rooms, however often not enough hot water to use them.
Our bed was a king and fairly good by Mexican standards, but hard for me. It was very nice and quiet to sit on the deck, with birds in the morning and the roar of the lion in the evening. Small animals roamed free and there many captive rescue animals.
Entertainment is limited to an animal show, riding bicycles, kayaking or snorkelling in the cenote, or wandering trails. There is a rocky beach at the resort or they will take you to their beach club by van. It is on a beautiful white sand beach and they provide a bar and a few snacks. The pool is a large free form with a separate pool for small children.
This is not a party resort but wonderful for nature and quiet.
The food is very hit and miss, you will not starve. Do not expect what you order to come out being what the menu says. The buffet is not available on quiet days but you can order ala carte when you wish. Reservations were not needed and neither is dressing for dinner, very casual.
I could go on about the food but this is not a restaurant review.
Staff are all very friendly but seem inexperienced. Even though using Spanish will help , you will still find orders get mixed up, forgotten, etc.
It is good to see Spanish is the main language used, this is Mexico.
Reception and managers speak English well.
Check out directions came to our door in Spanish, but you can always translate on Google.
The wifi works well throughout the resort.
We would be happy to return one day
We spent a week here from jan 17 to 24.

My room was booked for me for business, however I feel the need to share that this place is not an animal park or sanctuary like advertised. These animals are in tiny cages & have absolutely no quality of life whatsoever. The jaguar is in a small plexi glass container and the lions are piled on top of each other. Do not support this horrible business. Also, my bags were completely covered in ants. Stay away.

Dear Guest,

For us very important know that exist people who really care the animals and the environment like in Animal Park care too.
Every day the professional staff, zookeppers, vets and government associations efforts for the animal care.
the 80 percent of the animasl that we have were rescued and recieve phisical and mental rehabilitation. One of the most
relevant cases from Animal Park are the Jaguars they arrived when they were cougars with serious nutritinal problems and
with animal abuse Due to this one of them present progressive blindness and the other one dental problems fortunely now
they have medical aid and professinal people that help in the process of rehabilitation
YES!! We know that some of the exhibitors dont have a big space the ideal would be the freedom!! but we must be in mind that
this animals can´t be released they were born in captivity they could cause an ecological impact or die.
We are building and adapting areas most ample to be able and provide a better quality of life but like you know to do this
are necessary time and economic resources and we are a private institution we are a proffesional staff and we work everyday
so hard for them and for the animal care.

Best Regards.
