Not super fancy but very roomy and just perfect for our stay in Akumal...our family (2 parents, 4 kids) had plenty of room. A washer and dryer is in the unit which was convenient. Jorge, the owner, is super friendly and helpful and lives next door. Lagoon was steps away, bay a short walk. Was great to return back to condo after a day of exploring with A/C in all the bedrooms! Perfect location for exploring tons of cenotes, Tulum ruins, Playa del Carmen, Xpu-Ha, etc. Would definitely stay again!
Very nice condo for exploring the Yucatan. Close to the beach and bay next door for snorkeling (just a short walk and down a path) Great restaurants in walking distance too! (book early for fridays, they fill up) Not fancy but very functional, this place has everything you will need for your vacation. Jorge is on site and available for any questions.
Our 10 day stay over the Christmas holidays was a great way to finish off the year and bring in the New. The property was ideal for our family of 4, as everyone had their own rooms and plenty of space to spread out.
The property gave us a sense of safety not only having Jorge (owner) living next door to answer our questions, but its quiet and off the beaten path location was its charm as well. The beach is only a brief 3 minute walk, restaurants are all within 2-15 minutes from its location as well.
There is a maid if you desire that will check in every two days, as well. The Casa looks exactly like the photos..
Though the property did not have a pool, was not an issue as all the restaurants had pools which made for outings. The snorkelling is fabulous in half-moon bay, yal ku, and Turtle Bay, and easy for beginners like my 9 and 11 yr children.
The location of the Casa was also ideally located for day trips up and down the coast as well. We arranged with our cab drivers to pick us up in the morning (which amassed us when they arrived on time) for daily excursions abroad to Tulum, Coba, Playa De Carmen, etc...
Would I stay here again, ABSOLUTELY...
This condo is in a great location and if you have a car to go exploring, even better. You can walk to Akumal beach and to the Lagoon but the closest water access is not to a sandy beach. Plenty of places to eat and markets in walking distance. We spent most of our time out at the various cenotes in the area and not much time at the beach anyway. The condo itself is comfortable and pretty clean. We stayed a week and had maid service once. But they did come take out the trash one other day. We didn't care though we were just having a great time. Some of the linens and window coverings were a bit tired and we could not make the tv work but we never asked for help either. I am sure that Jorge would have been right there to help.He is very helpful and has knowledge of the area. Nice that the kitchen was well equipped, plenty of hot water and a washer and dryer. I think it would have been nice if there was a dust pan for sweeping up sand and bits and also dish towels. Beds were not super hard which is a bonus in mexico. Really it was a good place to stay and we would love to go back.
Also we rented a car at the airport which was fine, But DO NOT fill up at the station on the other side of the airport. Make sure you stop before you get down there. They will rip you off either way you pay. For sure don't use a card, They will tell you its declined and you will have to come up with the cash somehow. We wound up paying $20 usd and $200 pesos to top off our tank. When we got home we found that they had indeed charged our credit cards to a total of $120 usd.
Large apartment, clean and spacious, lovely terrace. Owner (Jorge) was able to quickly resolve problems as they arose and was very friendly. Close to Akumal beach. Very quiet place, would recommend!
