“Great fishing at one of the seven lakes adjacent to the main lodge.”
Reviewed 23 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

We found the fishing to be phenomenal. The guides work very hard to locate great fishing spots and also work around the lodge and boat docks to insure that the boats are clean and gas tanks are filled. The guides have great equipment and know how to use same to find fish habitat. The staff is very helpful in handling the guests luggage and equipment both to and from the lodging areas. The guides do a great job operating the boats, building the campfires and cooking the shore lunches. They consistently watch over the guests and assist in the great fishing experience by providing information on techniques and methods to enhance the outcome for each day. This is a wilderness remote lodge system serviced mostly by float-planes. The accommodations are rustic but comfortable. Food was plentiful and well prepared. The staff was friendly, helpful and very accommodating. The guide we had during our four days was exceptional in every way possible. It is impossible to describe fully the many ways he made our fishing trip a positive lifetime experience. His attitude towards maintaining the environment, care for the fish caught by releasing them without harm and providing for the comfort and safety of the guests was outstanding. He is a definite asset to the success of Slippery Winds Lodge.

“Excellent full service fishing lodge”
Reviewed 5 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

Being a dual citizen of both Canada and the US, gives me a somewhat different perspective in rating Canadian fly in fishing lodges.
Here the service you receive is top notch, the cuisine is outstanding, the scenery is serene and the angling does not disappoint!
The support staff are all exceptional, and at the same time respectful of one's space.
It's one of the few resorts where they actually carry out the suggestions made from previous guests. Thanks for an improved menu with a much better variety of fruits and vegetables.
The cabins are comfortable and updates to them are noticeable.
The new boat motors run perfectly and the boats are pretty dry unless there is a downpour like the ones we had during out stay.
Apart from not having padded boat seats(sorry, I'm a bit fussy...) everything was nicely set up for an efficient fishing experience.
We are already booked in for next year....

“Best fishing experience I have ever had!”

I have fished many lodges in CA over the years and this one by far was the best. The fishing was great and the staff was even better! Pat the camp manager was always checking to make sure we got what we needed and made us feel welcomed and appreciated. Tom the chef did a great job and the meals were great. Shannon working the kitchen and tables was also great and kept a fresh pot of coffee ready. Gary made sure our boats were ready, gassed up, and full of bait as well. He or another staff member met us at the dock each time we came in!

The cabins are very well kept and clean.

Just a great experience and one I would recommend for those wanting to do a "fly in"; catch great fish and not have to drive 5 hours once you get into Canada. You pick up the plane maybe 10 minutes out of International Falls, MN.

Taking my grandchildren with me next year. That's how much I enjoyed this trip!!!
