Long Beach House is a truly heartwarming place to be. From the moment we walked in the door that's nestled in the side entrance, we immediately felt "at home" (and by the time we left, we wished it was our home). Gorgeous original (and some new) stained glass windows in the functional porch area (complete with washer and dryer for those staying awhile) make the entrance very inviting. Beautiful clean white wooden walls warmed by soft palette blues and delightful seaside themed accents welcome us as we started to settle in and absorb the amazing energy of the ocean right outside the window. The house is small (we like small!) making it cozy as can be. However, it doesn't feel closed in at all as it's been restored to a very functional and inviting open concept living and dining area which makes use of the space in the best way possible. We loved the exposed brick and enjoyed turning on the fireplace at night for added ambiance. The beds are superb with linens to match. I'm a big fan of a good mattress and this was a nice surprise. While the ceilings upstairs are low, the rooms are truly sweet and it only adds to the coziness of the place (and makes me wonder why I have so many clothes anyways). :-)
Darrell, the homeowner, was so incredibly helpful throughout the weekend--from guiding us through the home upon our arrival to sharing about its history in his family, as well as current happenings in and around the Bonavista area. Just great!
Spending time in this house was a beautiful escape and retreat for us and we hope to come back again. It's a fantastic place to stay and we're so glad we chose it.
