Downstairs is very grand and beautiful. Our standard twin room with sea view was of a reasonable size and the hotel is right on the beach. The beds were comfortable and linen and towels very clean. As the building is now old, some upgrading is required e.g carpets in rooms are rather stained and cracks in wash basin, one of the reasons that I don't think the 5 star rating is justified anymore. Breakfast is included, there is a wide selection including cooked foods, cold meats/cheeses, fresh fruit and cakes/pastries. What spoiled it is that whilst some items were fresh, others were not e.g mini banitsa rolls that were hard and dry, rancid butter portions. The beach is one of the best around in my opinion and loungers and umbrellas are free, though they moved us initially, telling us that the central umbrellas were reserved for certain rooms, although they weren't labelled as such, I found this rather embarrassing. Overall, we had a good time but I really think its time that there was some investment into upgrading both the food and the decor/fittings, otherwise those expecting a 5 star hotel will be disappointed.

Dear Alison,
thank your review! Our plan is to constantly invest into our property! the central umbrella part is reserved for client, who have booked our Master or Presidential Suites and it is clearly stated, reserved for room no 211,311. etc. we have managed to change the decor, fittings and linen for all of our clients. New towels for the rooms and the beach, also a coffee and tea cooking facility in each room were new for summer 2019. Please accept my apology on the mini banitsa roll experience! We will have a closer look at that item. Hope to welcome you again at The Palace Hotel.

Very nice place! Loved it! Will surely visit again. The place is huge. Lots of attractions! Couldn’t finish visiting all the attractions in two days. The staff is very nice and friendly as well. Very good service!

I don't know to laugh or to cry. I'm starting with the building of the hotel, which is not repaired by at least 30 years. This is not a 5 star hotel! In the restaurant was nothing to eat! Cheap sausages, dried vegetables, cheap tea, cheap margarine instead of butter, glucose syrup instead of honey and so on. Overall, everything on the table was the lowest quality. This is not a 5 star hotel! The eggs were gray-green color, this is not a 5 star hotel! Continue with the beach and special treatment to the hotel owner. For him and his wife were special mattresses with pillows on the sun loungers. Not allowed us to buy water for our kid, on the pretext that it is still not working. A little later we noticed the gentleman and his wife to dine at the same restaurant! This is not a 5 star hotel! And not only that! The restaurant was working just for them! This is not a 5 star hotel! The next morning at breakfast there was a watermelon. The previous days were gone! We took of the watermelon and we've established that it is only the bottom! Were cut and had given her middle of the Mr, and for us the leftovers! This is not a 5 star hotel! The rooms ... .... holes in the curtains! Hairs on the sheets! This is not a 5 star hotel! Never again! Don't go!

Excellent location right on a perfect sandy beach. The service is good, the food is good but nothing fancy. The rooms are clean and meeting rooms are above average. The environment isok but some of the neighborhood is worne down.

Room tip: Seaview is always nice.

I have been to many 5 star hotels in Europe and around the world, but this one definitely deserves not more than 3 stars!
The room, no matter the sea view was tiny, the furniture was at lest 15 years old, stains on the moquette and 2 separate beds!!! They said all rooms were like that , just crazy! No services were included in the astonishing price of 280 leva (140euro) per night! You even didn't get a free umbrella on the beach!
The staff behaved like you owed them something or you must be happy to get a room in this old Soviet like hotel.
The restaurants are no better too, please avoid! The food is average to poor, based on what you order and the service is terrible. The waiters are mostly nice young girls, who unfortunately have no training to work in a place pretending to provide 5 star service and most often either you wait desperately or you have to go and get them in order to place your order.
If you are looking for a 5 star hotel do not go there.
