We ate breakfast on Easter Sunday and upon ordering we were told there were getting busy and it’d be a little bit of a wait. Which was fine however I didn’t think 45 minutes for 2 meals was reasonable. I ordered corn fritters with bacon and a green tomato relish... there was nothing ‘fritter-y’ about them, they were literally a big pile of corn and spring onion slop covered in bacon and the relish was nowhere to be seen. The tables weren’t cleared in a hurry and the young girl working there had no idea and no urgency in serving her customers.
There was also probably 5 tables with people sitting on them, so quite quiet I thought!
We chose this cafe because one the outside it looks absolutely beautiful, a lovely outdoor area and a gorgeous view of the wharf, however the meal was a huge disappointment, as was the service.
The food was great, as was the service. It was a little pricey but we had a lovely breakfast and you can't beat the views - opposite the main fishing port wharf with mantarays clearly visible in the water (cross the road for this) - we enjoyed our meal.
The Wharfside Cafe is, as its name states, located next to Eden's commercial wharf where fishing boats, harbour and salvage tugs moor. It is a very busy scene and I thoroughly enjoy a coffee and and some food while watching the activities on the wharf. The service was fine and the food quite tasty and the portions not ungenerous. Will definitely be back the next time we're in Eden.
Had a very tasty lunch with nice views over the wharf. Friendly staff and a reasonable range of (sea)food options & drinks. We were initially after the local mussels as they are on the menu and on the (specials?) board outside, unfortunately they were not available.
We think this should have been highlighted (or not shown on the board) to avoid (small) disappointments. The chosen food was excellent however. If you are after (local) seafood, don't miss out and go there.
