Description: This local, Outer Banks restaurant is now in it's 35th anniversary season. That's probably why it's called a 'Nags Head Tradition' by locals. Currently open for breakfast daily. Weekends - spring and fall - and daily in the summer season, there's a robust fruit and breakfast bar plus some whopping good breakfast platters. When dinner opens shortly, Specialties are real southern cooking - like fried chicken. Also a specialty - local, Outer Banks seafood - broiled, fried, and always good. Steaks and prime rib round out the dinner menu. The "R" Bar is great for a late night meal or a special drink. And if all this isn't enough, there's Roxie's Retail - great, flirty finds for your home or wardrobe. It's a family run organization that is glad to welcome locals and vacationers alike.

She crab soup was very good, lots of crab. Calamari was overcooked and small, but had good taste. Service was excellent.

First time visiting after years of vacationing in Nags Head. We had the shrimp and grits. It was delicious! Lots of plump, perfectly Cooked shrimp. Delicious grits with bacon, cheese, peppers, mushrooms, and onions!
The hush puppies are the best I've ever had. So light, not greasy! The sweet butter was so awesome, I saved a few for dessert. Great, attentive service. Very nice decor, clean and spacious. There are nightly specials including local catches and specialties. There was even an early bird coupon for 20 percent off the check in the shopping guides!!

Thank fred e

The Dunes is a great place! The environment is very welcoming and perfect for family or friends. The service is quick and excellent. In addition, if you have to wait before being seated, the gift shop is fun to walk around.

Went here about 45 minutes before closing. Everybody ordered something different. Lots of sharing. No one found anything that was not delicious. The clam chowder rated a 10 but the shoe crab soup rated a 12! Service was great and the owner came out to chat. Wonderful time. Highly recommend.

This was oh so good. The food was wonderful. We each had ordered something different and so we were able to taste the different foods. We did not find anything we didn't like. It was all good. Great service.
