Great service and friendly atmosphere. We both ordered the Mahi tuna with fresh vegetables and mashed potatoes. My tuna was delicious along with my side items. I’d highly recommend the Red Drum Taphouse.

We stopped for dinner and were not disappointed. Quick service and the food was even better. Everyone (including two picky kids) cleaned their plates. Will definitely make this a regular stop each year we visit the OBX.

Courteous staff, kind of dark inside, but I like that. Classic wood booths, tables, bar with TVs. Great food. Had a wonderful time.

We stopped for an early dinner and shared a low country boil of shrimp, clams, corn on the cob, potatoes, and sausage - very yummy. The Red Drum is a casual, comfortable place that seemed to have a several return customers. We would eat there again if in the region.

Opinions differed in the group I was with, but the fish and chips with monk fish was delicious. People also loved the red drum chowder and the ravioli special (especially the sauce). They don't have the full range of traditional fried fish (flounder, oysters, scallops), and the non-seafood dishes didn't get high recommendations. Stick with the specialties and you should be fine. If you don't like seafood, go somewhere else.

The restaurant is small and they don't take reservations, so plan ahead.
